Is this going to be another cosmic literary abortion, as I suspect? Or, do you think it might actually work?
According to Nielsen Media Research, the first night of the miniseries averaged more than 6.3 million viewers during its timeslot, making it the most-watched telecast in the network's history and the top rated cable miniseries of 2007. The second part average 4.4 million viewers, and the final part had 5.1 million.

I am kinda glad they did end it when they did. If they kept going there was a distinct danger of a repeat of Galactica 1980. I am not sure I could handle that twice in one lifetime.

From the linked article:
For this re-imagined adaptation, writer/director Nick Willing mines the bizarre ingenuity and twisted logic of Carroll's work to create a daringly different, boldly colorful and delightfully skewed dreamscape of his own. Willing also directed the record-breaking, Emmy-winning miniseries Tin Man for Syfy in 2007.

"Tin Man" was interesting, I'll wait and see what they do with Alice.
I'm halfway expecting an adaptation of the Nutcracker Ballet, next - since they seem to be seriously mining the 'girls underground' mythos.

I saw, only once on PBS many years ago, an extremely excellent adaptation of the Nutcracker called "The Hard Nut". It's a ballet. It's modernized. It's extremely good. I would sell my neighbor's eyeteeth for a dvd of it.

I am too, and I'm not saying they should have tried, but I just wish that there was some way they could have continued to make it work.

Looks interesting, I wishlisted it.
No eyeteeth needed. It'll only set you back about $23 new, through Amazon. You could doubtless find a better price elsewhere.
