Not really. Less currencies = less interesting variation of things, meaning stamp duty on Forex for the worlds' governments, people trading in different currencies to get goods worth more/less and the like.

Wouldn't there be more stability though? There would be no speculation, and no one could destroy another country's economy by manipulating there currency. Also, you couldn't give yourself an unfair advantage by undervaluing your currency.

Bugger stability to be honest. Being humans, we get bored of it. Thus affairs and the stock markets.
