As you work for an Australian newspaper, you had better ask some questions that pertain to Australia-US relations. I'm not too familiar on the subject but some questions can be:
In what ways might the change of ambassador affect US-Australia foreign policy?
What, in your opinion, do you think can be changed in the way the US and Australia conduct business with each other?
What key issues that concern the Australian people might be presented before the United States?
How might your continued relations with the United States affect your foreign policy with other nations?
Things like this should be fine enough. As I'm sure you know, DON'T ASK OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS!
