True- McCarthy's statements are true, all of them. Vaccines cause autism in children.

The real problem is that the symptoms of autism usually aren't seen until just about the same time that children start getting the bulk of their early vaccinations. This leaves parents searching for something to blame to target vaccinations, because they are convinced (wrongly) that their children were perfectly normal before the shots.

Boom, nail + hammer = Boom.

Parents being oblivious to such simple things to find out is a key factor in all of this.

The 18th century English poet Alexander Pope wisecracked once: "A little learning is a dangerous thing."

This vaccines-cause-autism bullshit is a perfect example of morons vaguely hearing something vague about a fact that somebody heard something about somewhere once, maybe.

Here's the story: Once upon a time -- I mean like in the 1950s -- SOME vaccines had a preservative added to them that was mildly toxic and which SOME studies SUGGESTED MIGHT be connected SOMEHOW to autism.

So labs stopped using those preservatives.

So, for decades, no vaccine has had any ingredients that could in any way contribute to autism.

But Jenny McCarthy doesn't know that. Why? Because she's stupid -- too stupid to actually look up or ask a doctor what the truth is. Like a depressing number of others.

I've decided to declare that a true factoid because it seems so true for at least a portion of the population.

We understand, and my douchebag levels have dropped approximately 23-27.4% in the past two years, so I'm steadily advancing towards a state of less douchebaggery.

My point was that you sinking/swimming in the educational system doesn't qualify you to sink/swim intellectually, since intellect is a concept that isn't always judged by academic performance.

Although, that's not to say pwning teh skool means you're just tampering with the system, nor is it to say failing the system makes you misunderstood genius waiting to be revealed, as you said.

And yes, he's all our grandpas, to clear the air now.

As do I actually, but only around certain aspects. Not appearances, but to actually better the human genome. One of the few instances where I actually think the Nazi's may have been on to something.
