I agree that JFK would be a good idea on a bill, but why would you replace McKinley?...or do you just like the idea that JFK should be on the $500?

Kennedy is already on the half dollar coin. And the US does not make $500 any more. $100 is the largest bill currently made.

But aren't we printing money like mad! At this rate $500 now will be worth $100 before the banking crisis! Maybe we should start printing larger bills again? :p

Grant wasn't really a war criminal, more like Sherman.
No argument on Jackson.

Agreed. Thomas Paine never gets enough respect.

I like the idea of Paine bills, however I rather liked Jackson, he was a complete badass. I'd like to see him resurected and have a fist fight between him and Putin.

Hmm. Washington already has the dollar, correct? So why do we need him on the quarter?
Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Corruption is evil. Therefore, power is evil. Absolute power is absolute evil.

Franklin, he wasn't a president and Uylesses S. Grant because he wasn't a president either. Put Teddy on a bill or something.

There is a museum near where I live (I live in Georgia) that has the mens restroom labeled "Shermans Headquarters", and there are pictures of him above each urinal. He is still not looked kindly upon in many parts of Georgia and South Carolina. :p

We only need one man’s face on our money. The Alpha and the Omega, Barack Obama.

We could just do various poses to tell them apart.

Thats a good point... I'd go for taking wahsington off of one of the two of 'em. Cool guy and all, but theres no reason to treat him like a demigod, when theres a lot of other people we could/should honor as well.

And for good reason. He basically pillaged and ransacked the South, although estimates on civilian casualties are pretty low.

How about Fredrick Douglas? A great American, I think he would be an appropiate 1st African American on a bill.

Washington was very clear that he neither wanted to be a monarch nor a god. Treating him as such is disrespectful to his memory. I'd keep him on one, though.

Yeah, we could stick him in there too, we'd just have to be sure Obama's picture was on the same bill and much larger.

An excellent idea. Although with all the people whose names have been suggested so far, we might need more denominations.

Jackson. While I approved of his elimination of the national debt, the Trail of Tears was unforgivable.

People starved after his army came. To be fair, William Quantrill was just as bad a Sherman (if not worse in some ways), he just didn't have nearly as many men under his command.

The Trail of Tears was quite possibly the worst injustice ever carried out by the U.S. government. He really shouldn't get to be on the 20.

Starvation follows every army, although, to be fair, Sherman' scorched earth policy definately didn't help.
