What US currency president would you change?

Postby Tsa-la-gi Nation » Thu Sep 17, 2009 5:53 pm

Ok....up for debate, which president would you take off US currency, who would you replace him with & why? Please note that the poll can only can have ten choices so the last line is the non presidents grouped together. Happy debating! :p

Change the $100 bill. I'm so fucking tired of hearing "Benjamin" over nine thousand times daily.

Grant. Not a particularly good president, nor a particularly good general.

Jackson, what did he ever do to deserve the most useful bill ever? Killed Indians, defied the SC, and was a corrupt thug.

I would guess that's why they're all in one poll option. Hamilton wasn't either.

While Grant's Presidential legacy is debatable, questioning his greatness as a general strikes me as absurd. Perhaps you would care to elaborate on that position?

Ugh, all of them. They've made American currency so freakin' ugly now it's not even funny. They should bring back the classic bills. I really couldn't care less which president (or Founding Father) is on which bill.

Replace Wilson with Coolidge. Wilson was awful.

He was aruguably one of the most popular men in the country in his time. Well, maybe not in the south, but they didn't have much of a voice after the war for some time.

Grant was a perfectly capable leader. Just not anything special. It's just that compared to the Union generals who came before him, he was a genius. He used the North's industrial might to his advantage, and didn't make stupid mistakes. Sherman never gets any of the credit for winning the war, even though his victory at Vicksburg, and the subsequent drive south, was one of the turning points for the Union. He has been harshly criticized by modern scholars for his "scorched earth" policies.

EDIT: He knew how and to whom to delegate, I'll give him that

Sure he was a popular guy, but that doesn't make him a great general.

Seriously, I propose that we change the $100 bill to the name of a president/revolutionary/miscellaneous public figure whose name one can barely pronounce.

*Ahem*

Andrew Jackson invented the bear at age 12. During the War of 1812 he personally swam across the Atlantic ocean and punched King George in the face, made the British promise to stop putting people on the rack, freed all the prisoners in the Tower of London and swam back to the US because there weren't enough Indians to kill in the UK.
After that he single-handedly won the Battle of New Orleans by shouting at the British soldiers so hard they fainted. He then built the Washington Monument as a 1:1 scale replica of his own penis.
He also drove the British out of Washington DC, but he was so hotblooded that it set the place on fire.
He is also the reason the US didn't take over Canada. He found out that there were more Indians westwards and decided to go that way instead.
I AM DISAPPOINTED

Try "Co-ordinated attacks and the Invasion on a massive scale" And "Outmaneuver your enemy if you can't bring your entire numerical advantage to bear." And don't forget "Fight fire with fire."

I'd swap out Andrew Jackson for Thomas Paine on the $20.
