That answer, however, doesn't make any sense. The best way to solve problems is to look at them in perspective, and very often major problems appear unsolvable and immense if you can't get outside of your own head and take a longer view.

(All right, so I have an obvious bias, but to be fair, I'm leading a functioning life -- which is more than I could say if I hadn't started placing myself as the Experimenter, with the universe as the experiment being overseen.)

It makes perfect sense to me. That it doesn't makes sense to you doesn't mean it's erroneous. If the OP chooses to deal with its problems in this way, he chose it. I can't detach myself, I have to deal with problems head-on.
