Your anecdote seems more like anthropomorphism and coincidence. Or LSD, given that people began freaking out.

I don't do drugs. I was completely sober and perfectly normal.

Edit: plus I hate drugs.

Reason I was freaking out, was because it doesn't usually happen to me.

Sorry, but personal experience doesn't count as proof of something, that's what we call an 'anecdote', and is the basis of all religions.

There is no need to rationalise your faith, because faith cannot be rationalised.

*Sigh*.. ok personal anecdotes with no scientific evidence do not count as proof, and I'm going to be REALLY nice hear and assume that 1.You actually saw this and are not lying and 2. that you weren't high as a kite when you did, Why is it god? I mean didn't lighting seem to be the work of god to primitive peoples, when you see something unexplainable you need to call for a scientist not a preacher.

Am I going to list my opinions here? No, because like a lot of "debates" on here, instead of the exchanging of ideas like how it is supposed to be, it will just be regarded with insults and over-used emoticons, like the facepalm one. It becomes boring, silly, and a waste of time.

You expect God to do everything, but you shouldn’t expect everything. He acts through us humans, not through Himself or His angels. Proof? He acted through the Allies during World War II, if it wasn’t for them the whole world would probably be under Axis control and the Holocaust would have claimed more lives.

Then "God" was rather indecisive, letting Hitler conquer most of Europe and claim six million lives.

Your entire post pretty much boils down to:

When people do good things, it's really God.

When people do bad things, it's because we're bad.

I think that's highly insulting to good and bad people everywhere.

There's a lot of deeply religious people who are really quite bad people.

There's a lot of really good people who do really amazing things, and I doubt that the only reason they do so is because "God" is working through them.

You have no arguments that haven't been heard and dismissed and disproven before, and give a lot of the actual decent Christians who manage to have logical, rational discussions about things without massively insulting large segments of the population a bad name by association.

So what if "a lot of scientists believe in God. And a Catholic priest came up with the Big-Bang Theory"? All that proves is that a lot of scientists believe in God. And a Catholic priest came up with the Big-Bang Theory, nothing more, nothing less.

As for "spiritual proof," that's the easiest cop-out in the world. It comes down to you having a foolproof out when challenged: "Proof? It's spiritual, you have to trust me."

All that said, I have nothing against you or your faith. Your somewhat snotty attitude towards people who don't agree with you strikes me as rather unchristian, but that's between you and your god.

There is no proof other than scientific proof, and guy, give up, much as Im never going to convert people to socialism you will never convert those who believe in the scientific method and certifiable proof with your anecdotal story, which you could be strait making up. Its pointless, your not going to convince these people (or me for that matter) that god exists without there being a scientific consensus.

I believe there is a God, but I don't believe he deserves our worship.

And war is a simply human invention

Lucifer: "I will not serve."
God: "Go destroy all the rebellious angels, my loyal servants."
(Civil war ensues)

God definitely invented war right there.

There's a proportion of the population who are religious.
There's a proportion of the population who accept the scientific method.
These populations overlap.

Must have been quite the crisis, since he abandoned the thread. Still, hope springs eternal, he might come back.

He'll come back, he surely wouldn't want to be labeled as that which he first described.
