How Obama Could Be A Better President

Postby Cavalstan » Mon Mar 12, 2012 8:35 pm

What do you think Obama can do to be a better president? Here is what I think he can do:
1.Get an actual education
2.Get actual experience running something
3.Join a business to get experience in foreign affairs[and he thinks just because he was born in the Phillippinnes means he has experience in foreign affairs]
4.[and alot of people agree with this]Drop dead

I feel so sorry for you, because your points can't stand for one if you fail to post it in the right forum.

You make zero valid points, riddled with factual errors, in the wrong forum.

Three for three.

Obama’s approval ratings plummeted after gas prices rose by more than 60 cents a gallon this year, according to recent polls. Actually, the White House has little control over the price of gasoline. Therefore, the lack of approval comes despite the fact that most experts agree that, beyond opening the nation’s emergency petroleum reserves. President Obama's first vehicle was a Ford Granada. That and other facts were disclosed when the president sat down with AAA for a chat earlier this week. Other topics incorporated electric automobiles and the increasing cost of gas. Well, AAA said it was working on a mobile electric car recharging station that could help stranded EV drivers. Article Source: Obama tells AAA his first car got him where he needed to go.

He has one. He is one of the most highly educated US Presidents in a very long time.

2.Get actual experience running something

Again, he has this. Unlike, let's say, Bush.

3.Join a business to get experience in foreign affairs[and he thinks just because he was born in the Phillippinnes means he has experience in foreign affairs]

Joining a business does not give you experience in foreign affairs. Experiencing life in other cultures does.

Oh god....

No, here's what Obama needs to do:

1. Grow some balls, and start taking a stand against unconstitutional legislation *cough* NDAA *cough*
2. Actually implement the policies he said he would implement, without bowing to pressure from the flat earth creationists opposing him

I'm not a fan of Obama by any stretch, but my hatred of poor arguments far outweighs my disillusionment with Barack Obama.

Step 1:

Become a real Socialist.

I might even be enthusiastic when I vote for him, otherwise the only reason to vote for him is he's slightly better than the even more plutocratic republicans.

Actually he did take a stand against on the NDAA clause (which was a rider on a constitutionally mandated military budget bill), giving a written statement that he would not use the powers in that clause on non-citizens. Also, everything in the NDAA was allowed to the president anyway by the AUMF of 2001, so the NDAA rider does absolutely nothing.

But he does need to grow some balls and not kowtow to every Republican demand.

Yeah, you know things are bad when Obama is now considered more right-wing than the British Conservatives...

No, he lived there briefly in his childhood. He was, and was always, born in Hawaii.

Yeah, I know that. But the OP made a wild claim that Obama was born in the Philippines. Most "birthers" claim he was born in Kenya, not the Philippines.

Oh and didn't he live in Indonesia? I didn't know he also lived in the Philippines.

I'm only British, so I may have missed something, but I was fairly sure that Columbia University and Harvard Law School provided a real education, that being a community organiser meant he had run things, that business normally teaches about business rather than foreign affairs, that he was born on Hawaii (as a Filipino birth would make him ineligible for the Presidency under the citizenship-requirement clause of Article 2 Section 1, I thought), and that dead men tend to make rather useless heads of state. Then again, as I've said, that's just me

No, you pretty much nailed it. Also he had to actually earn his way to Harvard and Columbia as he wasn't a legacy. Which not only means he did earn his education, but also has the real world experience from not having lived a privileged life like Bush 43 did.

Course, one could argue Harvard was a career move. After all, there are only two types of Harvard graduates: The ones that were definitely in Skull and Bones, and the ones that might have been in Skull and Bones. Though Obama falls in the second category.

Is it just me, or is it bad that the Brittish guy knows more about our country then we do? And this children is why American education sucks balls.

Honestly all Obama needs to do to become a better president is stand up against the Republicans and slander them like they do him and all democrats. He should say something like, "Funny the party that hates gays has the most gay sex scandals, huh?"

I agree. Slandering people gets you nowhere and it's the reason why the rest of the world laughs at the American political system - in politics one ought to attack the argument, not the arguer.

It's much worse because our media eggs on that kind of rhetoric. Satirists doing it is one thing, but when the Glenn Becks of the world produce mass hysteria by saying we need a survival kit because the democrat socialists are going to destroy the nation (presumably with an earthquake machine), and don't forget a copy of his new book (presumably for toilet paper, because reading is just liberal media brainwashing).... well, we shouldn't be surprised when the other nations laugh at us.
