I find it degrading to NS that this ads are there.
It's degrading to some woman because some woman might feel others are being exploited.
Other woman don't care what they or others do with ones own body though.


I think it's pretty smutty to try and sell a game with these images, I've never clicked on them but I imagine the game doesn't actually involve those woman at all.
They are just there to suck in lame-o's.

Kingsory, however, is completely stolen from evony. I tried it, and knew how to play already within 10 seconds because it was so similar. Also, the panda thing, RIPOFF! It's your advisor...
Note-In Evony, the girl on the newer ads(Black hair)technically plays a part in the game, since she was a player and there was this whole "Evonys queen" election thing and I guess she won...

Civory? Do you mean Civony? If so, um yeah, Civony was the beta version of Evony. If you mean Kingsory, then no, I have played Civony/Evony for a while and I know the type of graphics they use, and they are way different. As far as gameplay goes, they are practically identicle.(I prefer Evony though, because it's wicked(And don't say it's not, because you are basing your arguement off of a dumb ad!))

Look, Evony may be the most despised game on the internet. It's not the dumb ads either, it's the way the game is being played. You basically need to pay in-game money to get the good stuff, and even then when you actually DO that, as linked before, about half the time (I didn't load the article fully, so I'm guessing) you don't even play it.

That, and it's a game made by Chinese gold farmers (Chinese isn't the bad part, it's GOLD FARMERS), plus the fact that it uses a MSN client to spam others with invites, it uses hundreds of Google AdSense accounts to prevent being fully blocked, it's threatened to sue multiple people for criticizing it, nations and posts have been deleted for criticizing the game... the list goes on why Evony sucks big balls.

Seriously, WTF is up with the ads? I was on NS Forums in my computer class, because the teacher is slow, and I went to reply to a topic, and the Evony ad was at the top, and the person I sit next to was like, "omgwtf?"

The people that make the game and what they do doesn't affect the game, now does it? And I have NEVER payed a single DIME to play, and my city is doing quite fine. And the reason "half the time you don't even play it" is because its not like nationstates, where everything is forum based. Everything takes time to build, you don't build a city overnight, and the times could be a LOT longer and still be fair. And the MSN thing, it uses a system that gets into your contacts, yeah, but first you have to download it,(Its called IEvony) and it is completely optional. I didn't download it, and I have been playing since it was in beta. And again, what the makers do does not affect gameplay.

Oh those ads. I honestly can't see who finds them appealing. Well, I can, but then it's hard to imagine being that stupid. (I remember seeing one ad that was literally just boobs and text that said "Play discretely now". Oy vey...)

I admit, I had a bit of fun with the actual game for a while back when it was the Civony incarnation. I never spent any money one it, but it's almost shameful to admit now that I once enjoyed such a seedy game.

And yes, it really is a patchwork of a game. I believe they directly ripped off their leader pictures from Civilization aswell as their building sprites.

I'm glad that I can see them, so that I can pick up tips on how not to make a web ad when I go into the honourable advertising industry. I do wonder what their game is (both literally and metaphorically).

Yes, they've gotten worse. Now half the time the women in it aren't even as a pretense as being historical/fantasy characters.

Aye, they used to look like fantasy princesses showing a bit too much cleavage, and now its just plain modern softcore porn. The whole thing looks suspicious.

But sex sells I guess. I know, when the distributors/broadcasters saw the trailer for a drama that I worked on, they sent it back to us with something along the lines of- "it needs more sex!". Which no doubt they looked like the Brilliant cigar man when they originally said that.

Drama about Evony and their game/art theft/lawsuits/whatever aside, when I'm on NS from a computer that doesn't have adblock, I do find those ads to be particularly annoying. They do nothing to make their product appeal to me (granted, as I already own a pair of tits, that could be part of the problem with their ad strategy "zOMG boobs!" "... and your point is-?")

For instance, a religion thread in NSG is more likely to see ads for religious sites and services. A thread about international affairs up in the International Incidents section might generate ads for other "run-a-country/kingdom/city o hai play our MMO!" games.

Hell, for all we know, Evony is putting the names of other big browser games and stuff in their keyword list, JUST to spam their ads on other games/webcomics/etc.
