As an Atheist I agree with this. Some atheists call things "immoral" with no basis for their morality, which I find absurd. Old-fashioned universal law morality requires a force like Karma or a deity like Allah. Which have no proof of their existence.
You are allowed to sin but if you do apparently you will be punished but the punishment is not proven to exist. You will be shinned or punished by society but that is not morality as a universal law it is a norm, a law of society, it is a different thing altogether. Being burnt at the stake is proven to exist but being burnt in hell is not.
My morality is what is "do what's good for the species" this can be proven, you are able and allowed to kill really, but if you kill some one the population decreases, it is bad for the species.
But for a mantis that kills and eats its mate after sex, it may looks wrong at first but it provides nutrients for her to have healthy children which is good for the species therefore for a mantis killing and eating its mate after sex is "good"
