why, would you have let it/forced it to breed to see what the result would be? that seems like the only good reason to let it live.
Maybe it's not too late. I saw this program once about extracting DNA from blood stored in mosquitoes, and crossbreeding with frogs or something...
We could certainly attempt to clone it. I'm not optimistic about our chances of success, though.
