Don't laugh at me! Napoleon Bonaparte was scared of cats, and look what he accomplished!

Getting 90% of his military killed during an unnecessary, botched invasion of Russia?

This may sound odd, but the idea of space being infinite without end freaked me out. What also scared me was loud airbrakes (legit because ear problems in childhood caused me to always hear like I was underwater and amplified loud noises x10).

Clowns and ear wigs. I really hated the idea of thousands of bugs crawling around me, but other than that I don't recall being truly afraid of much else. I didn't mind the dark.

You know that movie Iron Giant?
It used to be my favourite when I was really little.
But then something changed, and I started having nightmares about giant robots. Not just the one from the movie, but giant robots in general.
From the ages of 6 to 10 I had recurring night terrors about huge, terrifying mechs destroying my house or stepping on me or setting all my stuff on fire with their giant lasers.

It was pretty goddamn scary at the time, but now that I think about it, it was kind of awesome.

But cats are so lovable, and it's relaxing when you pet them. I think you should repace "cats" with "dogs".

Especially pittbulls!

I had nightmares about Pitbulls, I also had several contingency plans in case of a Pitbull uprising.

I had a fear of pittbulls for a while when I was really young. Then, however, we moved next door to an old couple that had the nicest, most adorable, and most pathetic dog ever. It was a pittbull, but it was blind, mostly deaf, and diabetic, the poor thing. It was the friendliest animal imaginable.

Grey aliens. Nothin' beats them in overall creepy, scary, and disturbing factors.

I suppose the fear of it biting somebody is reduced when the dog has bad senses, and when it's possibly old and ridden in medical problems.

When I was a kid I was afraid of that show Franklin with the turtle on it. And I was afraid of chrome. (Not the browser, back in my day we didn't have that. :P I mean chrome like the stuff on cars. And now, I actually want a car with lots of chrome.)

I was also kind of freaked out by anything to do with a baby, and I kinda still am. Though now I'm less freaked out and more disgusted by them.

Oh, and the Lavender Town music. But that freaks everyone out. :P

Bad weather; I was convinced that most thunderstorms, even typical, gentle spring thunder showers, would produce a tornado. Rain alone was okay sometimes. That phobia lasted into my teens and I couldn't be alone even if a dark cloud was looming on the horizon. I was convinced I would die alone during a tornado.

When I was young, I was taught to be afraid of the Nazi's invading Russia. I was 6 when WWII ended, but I can still remember everything we were taught about the war, and my father and uncle both leaving for the war.

After this, I was afraid, of another war taking place between Russia and America. I wasn't afraid that it would happen, I was afraid that I would be old enough to be in the Army at the time, and at the age of 8/9, I didn't think of it as the way I did when I was older; doing my patriotic duty to my motherland. Ironically, I would go into the Army, and still am very proud to have served.
About myself: I was born in the Soviet Union and served in military ('64 to '82). I support the USSR, and am an active member of the Communist Party of Russian Federation.
My younger self, around 1953
