In regards to the federal election 2013 with QLD and the opinion polls as markers a simillar result to QLD on Saturday looms for the nation.
And pointless spending will end, punishing the wealthy with heavy taxes which lowers the amount of people they can employ, and finnally the economy can get back on track.

I know Wane says the economy is going well, but are you going to trust a man who did a six month course as a secretary opinon on the economy. At the moment we're doing poor to average however when compared to the rest of the West we are doing well.

But comparisons are odiouse

I defy anyone to bring forth anything that has changed in the way we live our lives in Australia. And if anyone whishes to argue that all the treasury people in the US. and the UK. are more stupid than our Wane, good luck to you.

All this brings us to one conclusion, the GFC did not hit Australia and our government has the intelligents of a peanut

What particular spending do you label pointless? Also our taxes for the rich aren't that high. We haven't changed since Howard years IIRC and trickle down is proven bullshit. I'm not an economist but: http://www.faireconomy.org/research/TrickleDown.html

I know Wane says the economy is going well, but are you going to trust a man who did a six month course as a secretary opinon on the economy. At the moment we're doing poor to average however when compared to the rest of the West we are doing well.

Trust not the man, but the team of experts which feed him his information... Personification is a running scourge at the moment.

I reckon ay.

I don't know if I understand the manifesto here, but we're in a constant state of flux, so anyone could describe said changes for about an hour if you wanted.

All this brings us to one conclusion, the GFC did not hit Australia and our government has the intelligents of a peanut

No it doesn't. It's a couple of unrelated statements. Also you spelled intelligence wrong. :p

We both are, in different ways. I remember my grandmother loudly espousing the virtues of the Labor party from her hospital bed last election. Working class catholic background. :p

It's funny because now the ALP have a large majority of people who would be against the catholic side and a part that don't care about the working class side. My grandfather was an ALP MP in the NSW legislature himself being Catholic and from a working class background. Funny how I'm not apart of that now though the ALP is not what it was as Kim Beazley Snr once said "When I joined the Labor Party, it contained the cream of the working class. But as I look about me now all I see are the dregs of the middle class. And what I want to know is when you middle class perverts are going to stop using the Labor Party as a spiritual spittoon"

Well arguably the deterioration of the Australian manufacturing industry has lead to the collapse of much of the working class itself. People don't tend to identify as working class anymore. The working class is I think tied in with Marx's ideas of the proletariat, both of which, in most of the western world at least, come and gone.

I can understand the whole mocking Gerry Brownlee and the government for being dicks, but really this video is just as ignorant about New Zealand, if that was the intention. We invented electric fences, jetboats, bungy jumping, disposable syringes, and contributed to the splitting of the atom aka nuclear weapons and nuclear power. Also there has never been slavery in New Zealand, and we were the first nation in the world to give women the vote. I guess all everyone will ever know about NZ is sheep and Jerry Brownlee, from now on. I suppose I had better start telling everyone I have sheep, just so people know what country I am from. :( /End sulk.

I think the ALP has now gone too far away from those roots, there is now a lot more of the "we know what's best for everybody" mentality within the ALP by self serving moralists who have spent most of their adult life working for the party and haven't experienced the real world

Both points conceded. :p

American style primaries are horrid, but salvageable so long as you eliminate political donations and the position of money within them. Just take money out of the political system altogether as far as I'm concerned. Corporate donations, and limits on advertising work for me comrade.

And as for our party? It'd bring a new meaning to the broad umbrella concept.

Well to pour salt on the wound I could say Nokia phones suck, and Motorola's are better, and that SMS were not invented in Finland, but instead as a result of a collaboration between German, French and British companies*, according to wikipedia Finland had little to do with developing SMS messages at all, it hosted the first paid SMS service, but it didn't develop the technology at all. They couldn't help claiming other nations achievements as their own. :meh:
The SMS concept was developed in the Franco-German GSM cooperation in 1984 by Friedhelm Hillebrand and Bernard Ghillebaert.[8] The innovation in SMS is Short. The GSM is optimized for telephony, since this was identified as its main application. The key idea for SMS was to use this telephony-optimized system,

I have to face it, our politicians suck. :p

It's a trait of many politicians everywhere. Not just over there :p
