If a woman wants to fight, let her, by all means. Women can be easily as strong as men. In fact I think the whole notion that women shouldn't be hit is sort of overrated, given that it underplays the strength a woman can achieve. Of course women should be allowed to fight, in our armed forces or in any society! All humans are equally capable of exchanging death, with the proper tools.

If I had an army, I would try to keep a gender balance and encourage sex among the fighters... Sex has a marvelous effect on morale, you know. Another good advantage of a unisex army. I would absolutely tolerate homosexuals, too. Whoever can fight.

Women should be able to serve. The biggest thing, imo, keeping more women from wanting to join is the notion that physical strength and aggressiveness are manly. How many women want to be manly? It's like a man trying to be more womanlike. Take out the social conditioning and the idea that "masculinity" and "femininity" can't exist in the same person and the military won't be such a sausagefest.

In the Republic they are expected to serve in the same manner and proportion as men! They benefit equally from their citizenship and are expected to serve equally for it. Any other point of view is morally and ethically corrupt promoting inequity between the sexes and outdated stereotypes.

You don't enlist the "generic" woman just as you don't enlist the "generic" man. You screen EVERY SINGLE candidate for physical and mental fitness.

While I do agree that men are indeed (generally, there are many exceptions) born with a naturally robust physique in comparison to women, that doesnt cut off a womans right to join.
There are many men that are fat lards flopping around that arent fit to join the army, so what does that tell you?
My standards would be "If you can take a recoil, shoot a gun, and not whine, your in", a broken down rule that should apply to all.
