Heh, I calculate that it has prevented...5,400,200,100,200 terrorist attacks. Give or take 4 or 5. What your saying is: Prove to me that this happened when you don't know. How am I supposed to prove to you that torture saved lives when the absence of the event happening that was supposed to cause death was stopped by the event before the latter happening. Its a paradox. Your asking me to go back in time, tell Bush to not do torture, see what happens and come back and report to you...I'll get my time machine right away!
As I said before the nuke is hypothetical, but lets say a car bomb, a hijacked plane, fill nuke with a normal bomb, a biological attack, etc.
