Regional Influence question

Postby The Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt » Thu Feb 16, 2012 8:48 am

Hey, I just wondered a couple of things about the "Regional influence" thing to the side of every ones page, first of all, how is it decided? Is it how often you post, how big your economy is etc.

And can it decrease? For instance at present I am Eminence Grise, but if I make changes to my nation will this go down?

I understand this is quite vague, but I'm still learning about NationStates so bear with me!

Thanks!

Influence is accumulated by nations in a region each update. The more endorsements a nation has, the more it receives.

The displayed rankings are an indicator of what fraction of the total regional influence that nation possesses.

Note that your influence ranking may drop while the amount of influence you have may be growing. As Zemnaya said, it represents the fraction of the region's total influence posessed by your nation. If new nations move in, or other nations are gaining influence faster than you, that could cause your ranking to drop, while the hidden value continues to grow.

But when the delegate tries to kick someone from the region, does the game look at the total influence or ranking?

Yes, but only "total influence in that region." Not to be confused with "total influence in all regions," which is what the World Census tallies up from time to time.
