Jesus was a Buddhist Monk?

Postby The Realm of God » Sun Feb 12, 2012 2:16 am

I had a discussion with a guy yesterday and he said that the teachings of Jesus were almost exactly the same as the Buddha. He told me to watch this video it is certainly interesting. It is almost certain that Jesus went to India from the age of 14, this was gleaned from an archive from a short time after Jesus telling of a divine child called Isa (the name of Jesus in Islam) who was born in the first century to a poor family in Israel and that he came to India and was taught as a Buddhist.

This is possible since Jesus disappears after his Bar Mitzvah at around 12 and resurfaces when he is around 30. He also preaches some doctrine which is not taught in Judaism such as non-violance and meek people inheriting the earth. The Manuscript says that Isa came to India at 14 and learnt Buddhism and returned home at the age of 29. There is other stuff but I would rather you watch the video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YbUEZfJ ... re=related

Video is long skip to 39.00 where the theory is explained and evidence given.

So NSG let the comments and debate begin.

Would make a lot of sense I suppose...

Wouldnt make too much of a difference either way though. Unfortunately buddhism suprisingly has its share of a bloody history too :(

Contrary to the propaganda, we live in probably the least materialistic culture in history. If we cared about the things of the world, we would treat them quite differently. We would be concerned with their materiality. We would be interested in their beginnings and their ends, before and after they left our grasp.

I'd believe that before I'd believe a lot of "Could it be?" and "Did this happen?" and "What if ...?" The Russian explorer who purportedly discovered the story of "Issa" in Tibet has never been documented as actually being where he says he discovered the story, and was called a liar by the head of the community there.

Indeed, and this is why I have a hard time with a lot of these stories they are typically unverifiable and used with some kind of agenda in mind. Honestly all the bizarre discoveries around the globe are typically discredited the moment any real scrutiny is placed on them. A lot of explorers' at the end of the day felt the need to create finds in order to justify their costs usually out of someone elses pocket.

Why would he? The whole thing about the death of the lama is sheer speculation. And they would have wanted a much younger child than 12, when Jesus seems to disappear. Sure, it might have been easy to travel via the Red Sea spice trade, but I doubt it was as simple as heading for a port and asking if there was room on board. Without real evidence, there is no reason to invent fictional travels.

Alexander took several thousand of his friends with him. Rather different. It's not like you could stroll down to the local shipping office in Gaza and ask when the next freighter to Taprobane sailed.

"Well, sir, one has just gone yesterday, I'm afraid it will be another week before there's a ship scheduled to leave."
"A week, did you say?"
"Yes, I'm afraid so."
"That is a pity, I had wanted to be on my way before that."
"Well, sir, if you're staying in town, I can book you on board now and ..."
"That's the thing, you see, I'm not. I don't suppose there's an overland service?"
"Well, you could inquire at the marketplace. There are occasionally caravans that go by way of Mada'in Saleh. Are you sure you can't wait a week?"

I suppose he could have walked across the Gulf of Arabia but it's rather a long way and there aren't many inns in the middle of the ocean.
