I'd believe that before I'd believe a lot of "Could it be?" and "Did this happen?" and "What if ...?" The Russian explorer who purportedly discovered the story of "Issa" in Tibet has never been documented as actually being where he says he discovered the story, and was called a liar by the head of the community there.

"Well, sir, one has just gone yesterday, I'm afraid it will be another week before there's a ship scheduled to leave."
"A week, did you say?"
"Yes, I'm afraid so."
"That is a pity, I had wanted to be on my way before that."
"Well, sir, if you're staying in town, I can book you on board now and ..."
"That's the thing, you see, I'm not. I don't suppose there's an overland service?"
"Well, you could inquire at the marketplace. There are occasionally caravans that go by way of Mada'in Saleh. Are you sure you can't wait a week?"
