My nation appears to be more middle-aged than anything, in it's late 50s, early 60s if one were to compare it to a person.

God... does that mean I'm in my 80's or something? I'd probably need more than a cane then.

We're proud.

December 2002 with 2 years lapsed.

The world is not cyclical, not eternal or immutable, but endlessly transforms itself, and never goes back, and we can assist in that transformation.

Live on, survive, for the earth gives forth wonders. It may swallow your heart, but the wonders keep on coming. You stand before them bareheaded, shriven. What is expected of you is attention.

I'm coming up on six years too, but I don't know if 'proud' is the word I'd use. :P

i don't think the age of a country has any reason to be proud, ashamed, or anything else of it.

as long as it isn't acting like a criminal among other nations, or embracing policies biased for or against any ethnicity, that's as cool as a nation can get.

i do think honoring and carrying forward indigenous traditions, those which predate its modern government, as long as THEY aren't discriminatory or what have you, is an extremely positive and honorable.

i mean what's really important about a country is what i see as the only two reasons for one to exist, and that is infrastructure and well being.

how a nation treats the lest of its citizens, or anyone else on the planet, that is the measure of it. that and how harmonious with nature it keeps its useful, physical, tangible infrastructure.

It's just a matter of logging in regularly and keeping your nation alive, which can be done while checking your mail or looking for porn entertainment on the internet. A minimal amount of disciplin goes a long way, which explains the antiquity of my own nation. I've grown fond of it, actually.

Seems like a typical case of being in denial about being one of the veterans.
