I am unsure whether a higher entity than us exists beyond or observation or understanding, and I think we'll never know either way. If God does exist, our limited understanding of the Universe couldn't do this entity justice in even attempting to describe it.
The more complex we understand the Universe to be, the less likely it seems we are of any focal importance. I accept that some things are beyond knowing, and the possibility of a god-like being is one of them.

I once went through the bible with a pen and corrected everything scientifically incorrect.
Then brought it to school.
The detention was worth it.

Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".
Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

Reincarnation's a pretty sweet deal for me, but I view the atheist view of nothing after death better than the Heaven Abrahamic religions advertise.

Eh, unless I got to choose how I reincarnated, I don't think I'd much like the idea. Floating, metaphorically, in deep dark nothingness seems preferable.

I worry more about having a life now than having a boring afterlife, thank you very much. A life without the worry of a judgement following my death. To continue, I hold that the lack of an afterlife means every second of life on earth is very valuable, and thus, every moment of life is special. I don't quite see how this is depressing to you, but to each their own.
Also, since I hold it to be the truth that no afterlife exists, why would I lie to myself simply because its less depressing or boring?

It is boring and depressing, but it's the truth. I prefer to be realistic instead of lying to myself so i feel better.

Sorry, but the society would need to move past religion in order to have technological advancement of millions of years ahead of us.
