we need to get OUT. we cant change the afghan people into little americans.

Sure we can, Ash. We pass a bill in Congress making everyone resident in Afghanistan on a certain date American citizens. Then they can petition Congress to become a state. I don't know why no one's thought of this before.

Exactly!

Why you're watching this when the Saints and Lions are playing a pretty good game on NBC, is beyond me.

So, they've decided to lull Romney into a false sense of security. At least, I hope so. Otherwise, it's going to be a short nomination.

Uhm ... The Macedonian Empire was not destroyed because Alexander tried to take Afghanistan. Babur, a Mongolian conqueror descended from Timur, not only captured the place but India, as well.

I learned today from Rick we don't have social classes in America!

Good to know!

“There are no classes in America,” Santorum says. “We are a country that [doesn’t] allow for titles. ... That’s not the language that I’ll use as president. I’ll use the language of bringing people together.”

At least he won't segregate us with words!

Actually Macedonia only failed when Alexander had to leave to deal with issues back home.

Read where he pacified the area by basically using genocide.

If a column was attacked and attackers went to a village, he would wipe out the village.

The fighting had all but stopped before he left.

He left to move south and attack the kingdoms in the Indus Valley. Then his soldiers said, "Listen, Alex, we love ya, you know that, really, but enough is enough, okay? Some of us would like to get home the wives and kids, y'know?"

Well, yeah. Better than many post-season games, though.

So who was the most outrageous in this debate?

So who was the most outrageous in this debate?

I only tuned in during half-time, and got the gay-bashing segment. Gingrich made me the angriest, with his claim that "anti-Catholic bigotry" was responsible for ending Catholic adoption agencies in Massachusetts. I did know that story: it was not the people in the adoption agency who were saying same-sex couples were worthless as parents no matter how loving; they understood that religious views could not trump the state's anti-discrimination laws, and were sincerely trying to help kids who needed homes, and did not turn away anyone seeking to provide such homes; nor was it the state who shut them down; it was the bishops, who have never done anything charitable for kids in their lives (protecting foul abusers of kids in fact), who ordered them to start breaking the law, or be excommunicated from the church, or shut down. But since it was no use arguing with the set, I went back to the game.

WOW. That's amazing. Of course there actually are social classes in america and where did he ever get the idea that "we are a country that doesn't allow for titles"

That's insane. We're a country fixated on titles as if they are almost all that matters.

Or did we have an anarcho-communist revolution in my sleep and the people decided that in addition to removing social classes we should remove titles too?
In the latter case, what is he running for since there are no political offices or "titles" such as "president" anymore?

edit: Wait, did he just advocate communism?

That's what I suspect Santorum meant, granted titles and nobility as compared to social and financial strata and job titles. He's just... not exactly the cream of the crust when it comes to speakers among the present bunch.

It looks to me like he was holding back and staying relatively quiet early in the primary cycle to avoid blowing up like everyone who's held frontrunner status so far aside from Mitt, hoping for the short rise in popularity that comes with passing Romney to coincide with the primary elections. Probably should have held on a back a few more years, though.
Also, chocobos.

I show solidarity with the Tea Party by drinking more tea.
I show solidarity with Occupy Wall Street by painting my toilet as a police cruiser.
