NSers Over 30?

Postby Chrinthanium » Thu Dec 29, 2011 6:47 am

So, I was having a thought earlier, and decided that I would post it. Let us see who salutes it as I run it up the flag pole. I am curious to know how many of the NS community here are over the age of thirty. I know I am 33, but I also found this game 6 years ago, when I was 27. Just looking to find those who are out there that remember the 80s, Atari 2600, and Reaganomics!

Ailiailia did an age poll just a few weeks ago, with pretty good takeup and a well presented age distribution, you might want to have a look at that.

It is almost universally felt that when we call a country democratic we are praising it; consequently, the defenders of every kind of regime claim that it is a democracy, and fear that they might have to stop using the word if it were tied down to any one meaning.

Boo to Atari AND C64 - those were for spoilt brats. The real man's computer were the ZX 80 and the Spectrum.

Btw, when I was born, the Pope was Paul VI, and Gerald Ford was PotUS.

I wish these threads would stop reminding me I'm going to be 33. I don't want to get older.

Will be 41 in a couple of months - loved the 80's for the most part. I learned to program on an Atari computer, remember when Pong came out, when 8-tracks were the portable music of choice, when we didn't have to wear seatbelts, and when one could wear those huge collars on shirts and not be thought of as an idiot. Hell, my uncle had those powder blue tuxes at his wedding, we had that 70's Gold in home appliances, a basement that had the dark panneling, and when I was little, these red floods that were my 'movie star pants'. Also, music. Lots of good music through all of that. Being raised in the radio business had absolutely nothing to do with my love of it all. Certainly not. ;)

I totally do that. I totally chase girls and boys but it feels really bizarre buying fiber (don't look at me you drugstore whippersnapper!). But you're right :) Totally works except when I'm reminded.

I aim to misbehave.

Really, I'm spending it as I get it, because I don't how it'll be before I have to move in with my son and his wife.
