So far, from what I've noticed, we've agreed on everything except economic regulation policy. I think we're more alike than you give us credit for ;-)

In a way. I believe in utilitarian happiness policies out of pure self-interest - I want society to owe me more happiness. So in a way, my motivations for supporting economic regulation aren't really based on any sort of ethical moralism, simply a belief that I would gain more happiness from a more economically anarcho-communitarian society than a liberal or authoritarian society.

I imagine if we probed a little deeper over a couple of beers, though, you'd appear way more amoral than I. I, for example, don't tag-switch or take advantage of customer service agents' desire to please in order to get free products like my girlfriend does, because I feel icky ripping off businesses, even when I think that they deserve it. And I'm not into killing people, and I prefer to address the current world situation as it obviously is - a humanitarian crisis. So I guess you could say I have some sort of underlying ethical philosophy in that I'm a bit of a humanist.

Hey I got a lot of people to donate to Jerry's kids. Given I got them to donate by suggesting my little brother died of MS.
In fact I made the manger look so good he will adjust the price on a lot of items at the grocery store to 99 cents for me. Also the manager has made my strategy store wide for the current donation drive for Texas children hospitals we all wear pictures of children who have died now. I am so proud to have spread my Amoralism.

Yep, I'm a Geek. I'm also a left-wing, anti-illegal, pro-life, gun loving, white, college educated, politically informed, socially abrasive, conservatively liberal male with a big mouth...deal with it.
!!!WARNING!!!
I give it a 1 in 4 chance you will not like my view on certain things,
you might find my opinion off kilter or even offensive.
I don't give a flying fuck how my position makes you feel,
it's my opinion and you won't change my mind.
So save yourself a lot of wasted time trying to argue with me,
don't compile a list of of my posts so you can try to point out the flaws in my beliefs,
you will not win.

I totally agree with you in the fact that we all feel good helping other people out (neurology proves it), and that by giving we actually end up receiving more materially BY giving in the long run. It feels good (I'm sure helping that manager felt awesome) and you receive material benefits from the help (awesome discounts). Giving...is in our own self interest. Our self interest isn't always a "greedy" self interest - it's a communitarianism that needs no government mandate. The only difference between you and I is that I think there are some sociopaths out there, and they happen to be the people we call "political" and "business" "leaders", while, from at least what I've noticed, only "political" "leaders" apply in your philosophy (unless I am mistaken).

Also, you never lied when getting people to donate to Jerry's kids. Your little brother DID die. Your human brother.

Back on topic... a glass of some crap red wine.

It's all waffle. Nobody's willing to admit that wine doesn't actually have a taste.

Yes.

Unless of course it's not OK for a woman to ask for a female to ask for a female officer to carry out body checks. In which case, the answer would be no.

I object. It has taste. It tastes like very fresh vinegar. What people are afraid to admit is that it all tastes the same.

I was quoting Black Books. :P

But yes, I agree with what you said. I've actually likened it to petroleum. Although white wine actually does taste good. Red is crap, though.

I know everyone will kill me for this, but I prefer roses and blushes. White's a little too dry for me, while red tastes like shit.

I can handle dry drinks; I drink vodka straight. Roses are good; I once threw one up.

Haha, not me. Rums and Scotches are all I take straight. But I do agree from experience - pink wines go both directions - in and out - quite smoothly.

It would have helped if I hadn't drunk gin, vodka and scotch on the same day.

Yeah, our bodies are pretty funny. We drink 80+ proof stuff, and then they regurgitate the wines and beer.

Tried both of these today. The Zatec lager was OK, but the cider was rather weak flavored. I still prefer J.K. Scrumpy's Hard Cider.

But that is a fatuous answer, for those who are satisfied to mind their own business do not aspire to become authorities." ~ Thomas Szasz
