Dear fellow Americans,

We are failing to do our job. Beer sales are down 1% in 2010. That's following a 2.2% decline in 2009. How can this be? Go out and buy beer today. I am.

Good. I am not contributing to this downturn either. We have to save the beer industry. I am going to get wasted tonight. For American brewery jobs. It's patriotism. It's my duty as an American.

Finnish cheapo beer (Karhu, Karjala, Olvi, Koff - no major differences really). It's actually pretty decent, and it can be found everywhere, unlike fancier stuff (and wine and liquor can only be found from state-run stores)

Then again, like all alcohol here, it's far from cheap. So I guess vodka smuggled from our beloved eastern and southern neighbours (it can be bought 24/7 too from your friendly neighbourhood bootleggers, unlike other stuff which is limited to the hours people are basically sober)

With wines, I usually don't go for the cheapest, especially red. A crappy white is drinkable, but a crappy red... I don't know how I was able to drink it back in the day. I guess it was all the hairspray going through my head. Nowadays if I can't be arsed to choose, I pick anything Italian. No matter how hard they try, they can't seem to be able to produce bad wine.

I was drinking Devils Bit Irish cider yesterday evening, a couple of friends and I bought 4 litres of it for €10. Great value because its stronger than the best brand of cider they sell, and the best
one is twice as expensive, and it tastes pretty decent too.

I'm quite a fan of dark ales. I can only really drink one glass, but they're absolutely awesome. I'm also partial to pale ales. Real IPA's, not the stuff that pretends to be a pale ale but has no hoppiness whatsoever.

Scotch has to be my favourite, though. Everything about it is awesome.
