Un-fail math.
"Then I was fertilized and grew wise;
From a word to a word I was led to a word,
From a work to a work I was led to a work."
- Odin, Hávamál 138-141, the Poetic Edda, as translated by Dan McCoy.

I enjoy meta-humor and self-deprecation. Annoying, right?

Goodbye.

To have less of a sexual manner, or more of one which ever one is an improvement.

My grand noble promises to myself have all failed.

So I resolve to get more good nap time

and stop forgetting where I put my glasses!

In my opinion, a core reason for not making one is the potential for sudden change. In fact in 2010 I did not expect to continue education, and had I resolved to go travelling, university wouldn't have let me achieve it. Also, losing weight is definitely out because of the workload.

Happy New Year for the Gregorian calendar.

I don't have one. Remember 2012 is the end of the world?

I can't agree with the 2012 end beliefs as the Mayan Calendar simply moves into the 14th baktun, but we certainly have a lot of good things to expect: the Olympics at home, for example.

My New Year's Resolutions are: (in order as I think of them, not in level of priority)

1.) write more stories
2.) keep up to date on the news
3.) stop seeking to have a pointless and heartbreaking relationship with someone I know isn't right for me
4.) in 2011, I spent far too much money on myself so this year will be more focused towards saving money
5.) upgrade Chemistry and Math
6.) having succeeded in last year's resolution to lose weight, this year to become more fit and strong through sports and working out
7.) having also succeeded in finding a job at last, make sure that I give my best performance in that and make myself lots of money
8.) read a few novels I've owned forever with the intention of reading but haven't gotten around to
9.) get on top of going for all my long overdue health check ups
10.) get a pet to take good care of

Acknowledging that there is a much longer list of improvements and tasks I need to complete, in no means to overwhelm myself I will strive to work on accomplishing these matters foremost.

I resolve to do more, try more new things and generally enjoy life more.
I know it's a pretty weak and vague resolution, but I do take this kind of thing pretty seriously. I don't think I've been getting the full potential joie de vivre that I could be, and I aim to change that.

My new year's resolution is to make it to 2013! I really hope the world doesn't end, that would be awful.

I'd also like to get better at the ukelele.

I don't normally bother, but this year will be an exception.

I resolve to make it all the way through the year 2012 without maiming or killing anyone for dribbling on to me about the fucking Mayan calendar.

Be a better person. I realize that is a cliche, but I guess I can be a real dick towards girls I date/dated. I have a hard time with 'committed relationships' and being faithful. I suppose I hurt them as a result.

My goal is to be financially independent again by the end of 2012. I'm close, I can cover my half of the rent already, but I'm not quite able to cover my half of the cable and gas bills yet.

I resolve to stop getting distracted so damn easily and to keep doing my schoolwork even when it gets boring, instead of slacking off and writing when I'm supposed to be reading some boring-as-purgatory book for English class.

Stop being a dick, that's all I hope for. Being so general, I'll likely accomplish it in a few months.

To not make any resolutions.
Ostro.MOV

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

One resolution I thought of, before realising I already did it two years ago, was 1920 x 1080p.
