I've been doing so. It's note like there's no precedent in English for words potentially being pronounced as one syllable when they're two, etc. (e.g.mare for the last bit)

Menzies is the big Scottish one for me in terms of strangeness. Although I know the reason for it.

...every Menzies I know pronounces it exactly the way it's spelled. What the hell?

Mainwaring is another one. Here, it's pronounced exactly as it's spelled, but apparently the Brits pronounce it Mennering.

Huh. Like I said, it's basically just "Kobe" (as in Kobe Bryant, who pronounces the E) with extra letters tacked on.

Really should've just stuck with koberulz.

Definitely debatable in the looks department. Personality wise, he is more rude and slightly more selfish (not too selfish). He'd rather be seen without me xD He also doesn't have a nation here because, and I quote, "I'm not a basement dweller without a life."

Menzies is pronounced Mingis, or something similar. I had heard the Hamish/James one before but I thought it was a WU. And us 'Brits' don't like saying things like they should be.

I'm koberulz everywhere else, but that doesn't sound like much of a country name, so I just started throwing on extra letters until I found something nobody else was going by. Now that I've stopped using the nation simulator and have 2000-odd posts on the forums, I'm wishing I'd just stuck with koberulz, but there's not much I can do now.

I've always pronounced it Koh-be-ahn-air...

That is classic cinema that is.

Pertinent question from the new Harold & Kumar film (for the record, its pretty decent)...who is the Karate Kid?
