Dunno. I think it would be better to come to some sort of mutual agreement on what's offensive and what's not. Granted, acheiving such agreement through consensus is most likely impossible, but I think it would be helpful if some kind of median definition of what's out of bounds and what isn't could be established. As it is, you have some people arguing that even the slightest glimpse, appreciation of beauty or simplest compliment, tastefully and tactfully delivered, is some horrible expression of sexist objectification, while others equally extreme and off the mark, saying that women (and men) who might not like cat-calls, leering and groping should just lighten up and get over it. Society doesn't work when everybody gets to make up their own set of rules. I want, on the one hand, environments where everyone can feel safe and respected, while at the same time I also want people to be able to express appreciation for beauty and attraction without fear of censure or reprisal, so long as they are tactful about it.
