emmmm...there are three countries opposing you, not one. South America plays an ever-increasing role in the world economy and no one is going to stop trading with them over some stupid island. So I don't really think the Falkland Islands would achieve anything productive by doing that.

And then, make a list of the british ships that cross OUR maritime border every year without permission. ;)

How about you prove British ships cross 'your' borders without permission at all?

And then prove that the Falkland Islands belong to Argentina.

Tell me again why Argentina's governments consistently feel the need to push the falkland islands whenever they're unpopular?

Brazil's economy relies on exports. And as manufacturers there are already complaining of cheap products being imported from China making dents in their profits, I can't imagine how economic sanctions wouldn't work to slow the economy down. Britain has the unfortunate end of the stick of being in the Eurozone.

Brazil wouldn't waste its military in a conflict between Argentina and Britain and risk being internationally sanctioned if it did.

Brazil doesn't need to, because there will be no military conflict because Britain has bigger problems, and as it seems they've got Argentina's back so who are you to know. If I were Brazil I'd see any military force sent by Britain as attempted imperialism, and that wouldn't sit too well with me.

So, now our argument is so stretched that we have to use "imperialism" to make it seem credible. Yes, Britain has bigger problems, but so does Argentina. Hence why they always seem to rant on about the Falklands whenever the incumbent president seems to be loosing popular support. Dilma Rousseff doesn't seem to be that sort of person that would launch un-provoked military action against the British in international waters.

Besides, Jose Mujica of Uruguay started this latest bout of trans-continental dick-waving. And we all know that when push comes to shove, Uruguay doesn't stand a chance.

Ya, basically, our governments claim the malvinas to avoid the wrath of the veterans and nationalists.
We should do something and stop losing money with the conferences.

Time for Britain to rally the Commonwealth.
