Then in time a US Naval officer arrived at the islands and ramsacked the Argentine settlement forcing all the Argentinians to leave.Which by the way years later was found to be an illegal act against Argentine territory according to a US Federal court.

So the Argentinians went back but the UK. later forced them out. The UK. knowing they were a major power could care less about Argentinas claim so they kept dragging there feet whenever Argentina asked back for the islands. Why do you think the UK. gave all of Hong Kong back to China. Major power China is no Argentina in which foot dragging for every works. And before someone starts talking about the 99 year leases. 18% of Hong Kong including Hong Kong island and the Kowloon Peninsula were given to the UK. in perpetuity by the Empire of China. And the people of that 18%, which is alot of people, were not asked what they wanted.




Not many people live in West Falkland. Most live in East Falkland around the Capital.

In Argentina the Malvinas, which they say is in process of reclamation, are part of the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antartica and the South Atlantic islands.
Technically in Argentina María Fabiana Ríos is the provincial governor of the Falklands.

I do not think Argentina will start a war. And some posters actual think that Argentina is sitting on there hands. That may have been true under the miitary dictatorships but not under there current democracy.

And Argentina does not need a navy. They have ballistic missiles in range of the Malvinas/Falklands. By the way, the missiles are made 100% in Argentina. They also have another missile program but this is a joint missile program with Brazil.

If there ever was a war, which I doubt, you would probably see thousands of missiles being fired from mobile launchers from the mainland.

What planet are you on? The Harrier Jumpjet was one of the key areas that one Britain the Falklands War, the Argentines couldn't handle it extremely good manoeverability, the fact that VTOL meant many more could fit onto one aircraft carrier and the fact that it could just stop, almost instantly, in mid-air if it were being chased.

Occupants of the Falklands want to stay British and if 'thousands' of misiles are fired at them then I dont think that they would like the Argentinians more than they do now. also I think that whilst the UN wants the falklands to be indipendant, this would probably count as a declaration of war. also Britain has quite alot of soldiers stationed there in case of a second attack.

There is a bit of difference there, as, AFAICT, Alsace-Lorraine had up until the Late 1940's a substantial German population, enough I think that it was a majority of the population. I know that prior to WW1 is was certainly the case that most Alsatians were German-speakers, and such had been the case for centuries before.
