For some reason, I tend to find these wars stupid:
* Six-Day War (while Israel won the war, it paved the way for even more bloody religious conflicts which should never have occured)
* War on Terror (call me a conspiracy nut here, but this war is just a stupid excuse to get to the oil fields in Afghanistan)
* WW1 (though after some thought)
* Korean War (I'm only say coz I am an Australian and in my history, I learnt that Australia was the US's 'bitch' and has been dragged into this war which was far from home and thus no real threat)
* Vietnam War (same as above, plus it was stalemate all round and everyone back here at the time was fed up with the war)

Same stuff that goes on now, outside of the major cities. But it's really irrelevant, it isn't our job.

I'm not saying we're terrible and the Taliban's great, or even vice versa. I'm saying it wasn't our fight.

Now if the Afghans rose up, ala Egypt or Tunisia. I'm all for giving them support, but I'm not for conquering the place and installing a puppet government. It's not our place, it's not our job, and it doesn't help anything, I don't think.

It's actually the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline, and it's proposed to transport Natural Gas from the Caspian Sea(not in Afghanistan) through Afghanistan and into Pakistan.

Said pipeline wouldn't transport oil, and it's source wouldn't be in Afghanistan to begin with.

Especially World War 2, in which a deluded train wreck of a man proceeded to waste the lives of 70 million people over the course of 5 years and cause the kind of calamitous destruction never before seen by the human eye. In which generations of young men and women were gone, wasted forever, for some semblance of peace in 1945 which was worse than the start.

World War 2 was the greatest waste of life, resources, and beauty the world has ever known.

They're both pretty stupid. I just figured that since the Chaco War featured excessive stupidity on both sides, it might at least match the War of the Triple Alliance.

When it comes to the War of the Triple Alliance (1864 to 1870), Paraguay was just trying to maintain a balance of power.
