For some reason, I tend to find these wars stupid:
* Six-Day War (while Israel won the war, it paved the way for even more bloody religious conflicts which should never have occured)
* War on Terror (call me a conspiracy nut here, but this war is just a stupid excuse to get to the oil fields in Afghanistan)
* WW1 (though after some thought)
* Korean War (I'm only say coz I am an Australian and in my history, I learnt that Australia was the US's 'bitch' and has been dragged into this war which was far from home and thus no real threat)
* Vietnam War (same as above, plus it was stalemate all round and everyone back here at the time was fed up with the war)

There aren't any oil fields in Afghanistan, that's part of what makes the war so stupid. That hellhole land is completely worthless in any sense.

I did specify the land. And I'd argue we do more harm than good to the people of Afghanistan, considering our zeal with which we destroy their livelihoods in the worthless "War on Drugs".

Same stuff that goes on now, outside of the major cities. But it's really irrelevant, it isn't our job.

I'm not saying we're terrible and the Taliban's great, or even vice versa. I'm saying it wasn't our fight.

Now if the Afghans rose up, ala Egypt or Tunisia. I'm all for giving them support, but I'm not for conquering the place and installing a puppet government. It's not our place, it's not our job, and it doesn't help anything, I don't think.

Only for the Trojans. I mean, yeah, Paris is completely stupid for choosing Aphrodite when Athena gave him the ability to get Helen anyway(She promised him victory in every battle. Just conquer Sparta and take Helen. Problem solved), but from the Greek Standpoint, I mean, they got Anatolia, which is a goal worth fighting for when you're located in the Mediterranean.

It was a stupid war because of the way it began, the way it was faught, and the way it ended.

I think if you want to do Opium you have a right to and noone should be able to stop you.

Hell, I think we owe every Afghan who had his crops burned because of our idiocy in the country a good deal of money.

It's actually the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline, and it's proposed to transport Natural Gas from the Caspian Sea(not in Afghanistan) through Afghanistan and into Pakistan.

Said pipeline wouldn't transport oil, and it's source wouldn't be in Afghanistan to begin with.

Its a natural gas line running from the Caspian Sea to Pakistan and India.

The oil pipeline idea was scrapped.

A puppet government? Really? And the Afghans WERE fighting the Taliban. =/

Jenkins' Ear for the most ridiculous premise, every war in the history of humanity for the simple fact that war is a fucking waste which should be avoided whenever possible.

Especially World War 2, in which a deluded train wreck of a man proceeded to waste the lives of 70 million people over the course of 5 years and cause the kind of calamitous destruction never before seen by the human eye. In which generations of young men and women were gone, wasted forever, for some semblance of peace in 1945 which was worse than the start.

World War 2 was the greatest waste of life, resources, and beauty the world has ever known.

Hitler started that war. He started it for a stupid reason. Therefore, a stupid war
Kalaspia-Shimarata's flag represents the Union between K&S. The dark blue represents the sea and the light blue represents the sky. In Kalashi language considers light blue and dark blue to be different colours. England colonised, and unified K&S, between 1774 and 1953, and English, light blue and dark blue are considered to be the same colour. Therefore, the contrast between dark blue and light blue represents the union, but the differences between K&S where as blue being two but simultaneously one colour represents K&S being two, but simultaniously one entity. The opposite to the symmetry represents the unity and indipendance of K&S, whilst also representing the Kalashi culture of opposite symmetry.KS is 75% Christian, hence the cross.

Happily, I engaged in a fairly detailed comparative analysis of all of the above (the wars of the Triple Alliance, Pacific, and Chaco) all the way back on page 6.
