No. Have you ever run in those pads? Bursts with a few seconds break in between is fine, but running constantly will make you overheat and dehydrate so fast. Coming from someone that wears them every day.

Since I was able to understand football. Roll Tide Roll. More specifically, Alabama; my dad is an alum, and I still have lots of family down there. And it sure as hell beats rooting for the state 'u' where I'm actually from (Maryland is painfully inconsistant). And I'm not from Utah or Mormon (sometimes the same thing), so I don't like BYU or Utah. Oklahoma is the team that didn't deserve to get to the NC game last year. Texas just annoys me and my East Coast sensibilities. Texas Tech is monstrously overrated. Oklahoma State passes too much.

USC is almost as overrated as Texas Tech. California may or may not be good. Oregon has an awesome mascot.

Florida State, Miami, and Georgia Tech should be honorary SEC members. They're certainly good enough. Get them in a conference they belong in, not the ACC.

Georgia is tolerable. Ole Miss is likeable. Florida is good.

Auburn is cow-humping trash.

LSU is the spawn of Satan without the awesome normally associated therewith.

Kentucky...? They merited being in the SEC?

Vandy...they'll be good eventually.

Tennessee...not worth the trouble of competetion. They can 'Volunteer' to take a beating all they want though.

South Carolina...they have a chicken as their mascot. I can't take them seriously.

Miss. State; would take them more seriously if they didn't keep losing to every conference opponent.

But by default, yes, I cheer for the SEC when its an SEC school v. a non-SEC school. The only people allowed to wail on them is other SEC teams, or the aforementioned honorary members (Georgia Tech, FSU, Miami, Texas). Except Auburn. I encourage everyone to beat them up at every opportunity.

Besides, there's so many Big 10 (mostly Penn State), USC, and Big 12 (and Florida) fair-weathers at my school, that for liking an SEC team other than Florida (and not actually being from down there), I'm actually fairly different from almost everyone I know. Especially for liking Alabama. You have no idea how often people just ignore any skill and just jump to state-bashing ("Can't you marry your cousin there?") I'm convinced its 'cause their jealous a state other than Maryland or one of their fair-weather teams can have talent.

Not down here, on the MS Gulf Coast we are rather close to Louisiana, and it is pretty evenly split with some going for Ole Miss and the rest going for LSU...

Although we generally rally unquestionably for Southern Miss cause theyre in Conference USA...

I'm hoping it was even before they were good. Otherwise you're just another bandwagoner (The two teams I've liked best in the SEC have always been Bama and Miss, and, though I shouldn't, Tennessee. And Troy should be in there). The rest, yeah...

Like I said, I specifically like Alabama, mostly 'cause my Dad's an alum (and so I was brought up hating orange-and-blue and tigers, as well as that stadium, the Bunghole or whatever its called), and I have family living down there. LSU and Auburn, I hate for obvious reasons, Florida I dislike to an extent b/c all the bandwagoning that happens at my school for whoever wins (There were even a few FW Bama fans, but I was the only real fan (who didn't dump 'em when they finally lost). More than anything, I hate any team that attracts mass-bandwagoning where I'm from. Texas, Oklahoma, Penn State, and USC in particular.

I just generally think the SEC is a stronger conference. The ACC is too inconsistant (with one or two 10-win teams last year) there's not enough defense in the Big 12 North (or at Texas Tech or Okie or Okie State), the Pac-10 is always hyped and overrated, and none of the other conferences are particularly strong, but some do produce strong teams (WAC-Boise State and Mountain West - Utah & Nevada). The SEC is really the only, from what I can tell, complete package; consistant, fairly good 'D' all around, and very high competitive values.

Good. I hate fair-weatherers. Half the reason I'm such a vehement Bama fan is people keep telling me they suck because they don't fit their bill of 'great team' or 'good place', and I get louder (and a little more fanatical) to spite them. So I can say I called it when they do reappear at the NC.

I've liked Alabama since before their most recent resurgance (which means its the first time in my memory that they've really been good).
