Not that it would change the actual outcome...

There's a reason the US team in the IFAF Championships is made up of a bunch of scrubs from D2 and D3 colleges...it's the only way to make it the least bit competitive with international teams...and the US STILL stomps all over everyone.

Can you imagine the outcome if actual Pro Bowlers were playing?

What the hell is this? We have both in here now? This is going to get cluttered now: I'm out. Luckily I have people to tg over and over about football until I bore them to death :p .

Now that that rant is over I'll start a new one. To: Fanboyists (I think)

You guys aren't the only ones who play defense. The Big 12 doesn't, nor the ACC. The Big 10 is a balanced league with descent defense, Pac 10 can sometimes give up some big scores, and the non-BCS conferences are generally okay.

The Big 12 doesn't, with the notable exception of Texas. But they're the exception, not the rule. The ACC; certainly not. Just look at MD-Cal this year, or Bama-Clemson last year. This year VT pulled off a notable exception to this in their season opener, managing to play some good defense.

Big 10...depends on the team; Penn State; certainly, Iowa...not so much. Michigan...maybe.

Pac-10? Its hard to tell when there are four good teams in the whole conference (USC (overrated), UCLA (not as good), Cal (not quite as good), and Arizona. Or is it Arizona State? I forget.

Mountain West is hit-and-miss; they've got some good offenses (Utah), but otherwise...

Sunbelt? Only good team there is Troy. Independents? There we go. Navy and (possibly) Notre Dame.

But really, you got to hand it to Alabama, they've practically got the best, or second best defense in the country, NCAA-wise. You can't trump an SEC defense. Big men, playing football the way God intended. Up front with power. Its like the AFC, really; other people have defense, but no-one is a Defenses-R-Us like them.

And yes, in case you were wondering, I play line, hence my blunt, up-front approach to football: ram the ball down their throats, and slaughter them up-front on defense.

How is Marouane Fellaini doing at Everton. The local Belgian news says he's a star player at the team, but is it really?

And when will Arsenal buy Standard Steven Defour?

Mmm, maybe we could start a new sport: Soccer but with the dress style (helmets, shoulder pads, ...) of the American variant...

Wow, that's even good, he's not a striker or forward, so...

About Defour: Maybe at Christmas?

Milan Jovanovic would be a top player for the Premier League too.
He's also playing at Standard and his contract is almost finished: he will be released for little money next winter...

Ah Arsenal will play Standard soon...

And I guess Standard will lose from Arsenal. And AZ will also lose from Arsenal. It will be very interesting though to see who will end up on the #2 spot of that group.

Sentimentally Inverness(if they were still in the Premiership) or Hibernian. Most likely though id go with Hearts in the big upset of the year.

This thread is for football, both international (such as CFL, the now-defunct NFL Europe, IFAF World Cup, Danish AFF, Israeli Football League, etc.) and American (NCAA, high school, Pop Warner, NFL, UIFL, etc.)...stop using it to talk about soccer.

This is the "NSG Football (all kinds, Int'l and USA) Megathread," meaning it's for discussion of football, both internationally and in the USA.

Soccer is not football, so soccer has no place here.

Bluityh let it alone. The mods said it might as well be about both, and really eventually they will realize this is not a good idea as most American Fans, hate Association fans.

No. Have you ever run in those pads? Bursts with a few seconds break in between is fine, but running constantly will make you overheat and dehydrate so fast. Coming from someone that wears them every day.
