Political Ideocube??

Postby Shadowlandistan » Tue Dec 06, 2011 10:41 am

Obviously we are all designated as one or the other based on the legislative decisions we make, but if you had to classify yourself as one of these, which would it be? I personally would classify my nation as a "civil rights lovefest". How about you?

I really like the idea of being a Civil Rights Lovefest. Have a feeling that would cause unintended consequences, though.

I am from Canada | I'm some kind of Socialist | And also Batman
"Never be deceived that the rich will permit you to vote away their wealth." - Lucy Parsons
Socialism is an economic system characterised by social ownership of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy. "Social ownership" may refer to cooperative enterprises, common ownership, state ownership, citizen ownership of equity, or any combination of these. There are many varieties of socialism and there is no single definition encapsulating all of them. They differ in the type of social ownership they advocate, the degree to which they rely on markets or planning, how management is to be organised within productive institutions, and the role of the state in constructing socialism.

"Anarchy". I think of it more as a Night Watchman trained as a Medic (Nightwatchmangale?). Free-markets, except with the usual military and law, but with the addition of an NHS and "public education". And next to that, stupidly high social freedoms, in a representative democracy, though political freedoms generally don't take precedence.

I agree, the Soviet Union epitomized capitalism.

I mean, USSR? What's more capitalist than that? Four capitals, all in a row!

This is significantly less cool than what I expected from something called an "Ideocube".

I dunno. Probably Inoffensive Centrist Democracy. I know I've just winged it with some issues though.
