It wouldn't be the same unless it was 22/22/2222 and that just doesn't happen.

No, 11/11/11. Which came 21 years after another 11/11/11, by the way.

This makes no sense to me. Why do Americans put the month before the day when writing dates?

Because they want to be different? :P

Also, there is absolutely nothing significant about that date, in my eyes.

11. November 2011, is the Bear Slayer Day in Latvia. Back in 1919, there was a major battle for Latvian capital Riga, between Latvian army and army of Bermondt. A large force of Germans and Russian pows attempted to destroy Latvian independence and marched towards Riga. However they were stopped at and beaten in counter attack by Latvians assisted by British warships. Lacplesis or Bear Slayer is Latvian mythological hero and that's way this day is named after him. Its a celebration for me since my relative fought against Bermondt and was awarded for bravery with highest state award. So its gonna be another special 11 November for me.

This would probably be inadvisable for anyone participating in Rememberance Day celebrations which would involve a minute's silence.

Yeah. Seven billion years, if I remember right. But don't quote me on that. So you might have 11/11/1,111,111,111 BC

Those freaky bony fish probably celebrated it.

I won't be taking part in Armistice Day at 11:00 because I'm actually neutral and I do not take part in anything to do with the military. I'm not going to disrupt anyone, though - it's their choice.

The point isn't really the military. The point is to honor the men and women that have died so that you can make choices like that.
