For me it is just another day.

Also 11/11 is known to be the start of the carnival season in my beloved south. It is considered to be the day of the loony.

I've heard about a carnival in Belgium... I don't know if there are a lot of different kinds or if this is the same kind.

Well, they have the same roots but the various carnaval celebrations are different around the world. Yes. And our carnival is before that. But on 11/11 the 'season' of Carnival somehow starts. Frankly, it is just an excuse to dress up and party. It also coincides with the Sint Martin celebrations.

Nothing special for 11/11/11, then.

I was going to say something [AS A JOKE] about how I have very specific plans for that day, but can't tell you what they are  ...then I remembered a story I heard on This American Life on NPR, about a guy who posted some kind of angry but tongue-in-cheek rant on his Facebook page and got picked up by Homeland Security - it took months and several court appearances before he finally went before a judge and was cleared (but even then on condition that he stay out of trouble for 6 months) - and I thought better of it. :(

Note to any Homeland Security personnel who may be reading this: I have no particular plans for that day whatever. OK? I was just going to make a dubious joke and thought better of it.
