My mother has viruses on her mac.
One of them is a win32 virus (Which i will accept, there is something like a 10% chance it was me)
The rest, there is no way they are my fault...
She's blaming me for the lot of them....
Although, its quite funny that "Macs don't get viruses", I Go about downloading crap all the time, I Barely think about viruses.
As of my scan 10 minutes ago, i have no viruses.

Get yourself some free antivirus stuff. Or switch to Linux.

Get her linux and use one of the 'light' desktops. Easy, quick and immune to ALL the viruses

She's not coming off mac os...
She's not one of the really obnoxious apple people, But she's not going to use anything other than mac OS, I know that for a fact.

Apple with the OSx. It's safe to say i don't ever want to go back to PC. Bad enough i have to use them 40+ hours per week at work.

No brand. I assemble them myself.
Also LibreOffice (but MS Excel), GIMP, Adobe Premiere & Illustrator, AutoCAD (thou shalt have no other CAD), Visual Studio Express, OpenWatcom C.

It depends what for.
General purpose, Windows. Firewall/server/wardriving: Linux.

Macs do get any kind of malware, as the Mac OS is basically a stripped-down variant of FreeBSD... and they also stripped down the firewall.

Macs do get any kind of malware, as the Mac OS is basically a stripped-down variant of FreeBSD... and they also stripped down the firewall.

I Know, thats why its funny that mac Fans say they cannot get viruses.

No real "preference" other than it be a well-built, solid machine made from quality components. My machine though is about a 10 year old dell latitude. I prefer windows for my OS, both for personal and productity/software reasons. My preferred office software is MS Office, web browser is a tie between chrome and ie9(I use chrome, since I'm still on windows xp), and I can't really think of anything else.

I use windows 7. Because it came on my Alienware laptop. I'm not a computer expert. I don't really care what Linux or Mac's can do that PC's can't or whatever. Window's lets me get on the internet and play games. That's good enough for me.

Probably not. All in ones don't really have the ability to be tinkered with. There's only a limited amount of parts you can have customizable in that small a space.

Linux. I tend to build my own PCs. I'm using a Dell laptop at the moment- linux is kind to it in ways windows could never be, in terms of resource management.

As for games, I'm more of a console gamer- however when it does come to PC gaming, I do fine playing them on linux using wine. Surprisingly pain-free.

Probably not. All in ones don't really have the ability to be tinkered with. There's only a limited amount of parts you can have customizable in that small a space.

its not a small space though, Its a LCD Screen, and tinker-able components in the back.... (Which sticks out, Like a CRT...)
Hypothetically, if it existed, would you be interested in it?

Vista was a decent operating system but it wasn't much good compared to XP which it replaced. Windows 8, so far looks more touch screen based then conventional and looks like something that would be better suited for a tablet.
