It's flat. There's corn. And about 2 million people.

My mom was born in Kansas.

And I think of it as America's Ukraine.

That's an insult to Ukraine.

Implying that my mother was born there, or that Kansas is suckier than the Ukraine? Either way, I agree with you.

I drove through it once. pretty much the most boring place on earth. I also hear that there's a frightening multitude of christian fundies there, so that's another minus.

Can't say I know much about the place. I know about New York,Virginia,Texas and California but not Kansas apart from its a rural red state and it's in the midwest.

On a navy blue field is a sunflower,the state flower. Also, the state seal and the words "Kansas". In the picture of the state seal are thirty-four stars representing the order of statehood. Above the stars is the motto "To the Stars Through Difficulties". On the seal a sunrise overshadows a farmer plowing a field near his log cabin, a steamboat sailing the Kansas River, a wagon train heading west and Native Americans hunting bison. Flag adopted 1927.
