I have been pondering this question of whether when most people have oral sex (Specifically blowjobs) do they hold the semen in their mouths and then spit it out, hold the semen in your mouth and swallow it or when your partner orgasms do you move as far away as possible? Which option do you think is the safest (in the context of STD's)? Which one option does you or your partner choose to do? Which one do you find the sexiest?

Erm... not got that far yet. But we're getting there.

Always swallow. Spitting seems so rude. Like you're rejecting an intimate part of him. And it's not like I don't already have it in my mouth.

The mouth is the most likely place for STD transmission to occur during oral sex. Any microscopic cuts or lesions in the mouth will be an ideal way for an STD to get into your blood stream, and of course if your partner has any sort of dermal STD (like herpes sores or whatever) then the part of your body that contacts those areas is where the infection would occur.

Thus, spitting does not protect you against STDs. The best option is to use a barrier method like a condom or dental dam during oral sex. If you aren't using such a method, then the best option would be to have your partner ejaculate somewhere other than your mouth, eyes, genitals, or any area where you have a cut or sore.

I though spitting or standing back would be the popular option...I was wrong.

When I had oral sex last I swallowed and the guy got really freaked about by it.
His reaction was just "ewww how can you do that, that's disgusting".

What's right is what you are both comfortable with. That's something only the two of you can work out. Don't do something that means you don't enjoy it simply because you think it's what you're 'meant' to do.
