I dislike how it not resizes images to fit on the screen, but simply cuts them off if they are too big.
No other complaints though :)

Forums are only as good as the posters, and I wish we could try and keep the witty ones.

Needs more silly. While the presence of Forum 7 has drawn away a lot of spam, it has also siphoned quite a bit of silly away also. I'm only one clown and I only have so much silly to go around. :(

More right wing than old Nationstates, but that has both pros and cons (someone for me to actually argue with vs sometimes nastier/crazier arguments).

I'm not going to comment on the mods one way or the other.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

Thanks for reminding me.

I personally think both the Fiction forum and Forum 7 were needless additions, and probably mistakes. What can they do but draw a lot of topics away from General to the other forums where, due to the general lower level of activity, they will probably die without much discussion. :palm:

The three quote limitation + no auto pruning is very frustrating.

The new forums are, in general, a good deal more boring than they used to be; everyone takes things far too seriously, to the point where I've had obviously sarcastic posts treated as serious or met with "I really hope you're joking..." posts. Practically everyone interesting has either been banned, quit, or simply posts very very infrequently. Moderation appears to be unusually strict, with just about anything that gets reported being considered actionable, and with much more being reported than in the past. Moreover, any thread that's not Serious Business is locked or moved to Forum 7. The net amount of silliness in general, moreover, has decreased greatly, unless it's just my older and bitterer self thinking back to the old days; answering posts on NSG feels more like a chore than the fun it used to be.

Also, this:
Sdaeriji wrote:The three quote limitation + no auto pruning is very frustrating.

In short, the new forums suck. But it's not entirely the fault of the server change; NS is just past its best days, that's all.

I've noticed the opposite, actually, but then, the only poster I've gone to Moderation about was a mod.

Clarify, please. What have the mods done that you feel should be done differently, and why.

I know it kindoff annoys me when a post is cutoff, although overall it is pretty nice, no major flaws, and it is definetly nicer then the jolt forums.

Used to they let people slug it out quite a bit and only interfered if things got really serious. Now they jump in the middle of things at the slightest sign somebody might get their little feelings hurt. As a result banning pretty much all the most interesting people. If we're going to have grown up discussions then people need to quit running to Mommy everytime they get offended. When some one comes up with a creative insult for me I treasure it. Like the guy who called me a liberal atheist duck fucker. I loved it but the mods wouldn't let me use it in my sig.

I'm finding the new forum a little presumptuous, given my observation that a lot of people seemed to think I quit yesterday. Odd. Other than that, it's a bit same old, but I dislike that forum seven has sapped the 'silly and social' from general. I like it when it was a mix of real debate and social stuff, as opposed to what it's become. But at the same time I also approve of the idea of forum seven. I just think it should be where the content-lite word games go, whilst the social things stay in general.

I'm not happy about the inability to multi-quote, but I generally like the new forum.

My recent threads in Moderation nonwithstanding, I actually don't see any significant change in Moderation in the new forums.

Sometimes a Mod is more fussy than I would be, other times they let things go more than I would. Usually, they are pretty fair, IMO.

EDIT: BTW, yay!!!!! Neesika and Bitchkitten are posting!!! Haven't seen the former in a while and the latter only sporadically. Missed you guys!!

Truly amazing that I managed to inform people that I was quitting whilst simultaneously being banned. I had a whole more reasonably worded, unbannable tirade coming up today, but everyone else said what I was going to say, so now I don't need to, which was anticlimactic.
