actually you can operate a computer via sound. I know this because in one of my lectures a blind man gave us a speil about having to use technology (this for helping design a working handheld memo-device as it were).

That is something I have noticed there was a bit civility on Jolt NSG.

It's good to have

to link to quoted posts.

I also really want multiquote. I really miss being able to multiquote as I a read a thread, and decide which I want to reply to when I get up to the latest (editing the others out in the entry text entry box.)

Another thing I'd like to see is forward linking to posts which reply to a post. That would make it easier to follow an interesting exchange, and also to find replies to my own posts.

As to the culture, I don't think it's changed much. There seem to be more role-players finding General, which is good. Their opinions have a bit of freshness which sometimes the regulars lose. We sometimes overqualify and waffle a bit, from excessive familiarity with lines of criticism.

Hardly a thread do I see, which doesn't have a poster I've never seen before, with fifty or a hundred post count. It didn't happen so much on the old server I think ... can't see any reason for the change though, the fora are still arranged the same way on Board Index aren't they?

You can to some extent, quote a post and then expand view, you can then quote any other post and it will appear in the box,

I think what's required is that expand view expands a lot more, or you can have a page selection feature in the expand box,

I preferred the Jolt way. Just click the multiquote button and go on reading down the thread. Better than trying to read the thread backwards from inside the editor, even if there is some way to see more than page's worth.

I should see if there's a browser add-on I could use. For instance, right click on the "quote" button, and take the text out of the resulting window, paste to the end of a file in a text editor. I do use a basic Notepaddy thing, but the copy and paste is a pain.

It's very cool and makes me feel really at home. There were a few notable issues to start with but they've been ironed out now and has better features such as simplified links to proposals. it is also much easier to change the text viewing size too (accessibility).

Something to do with the forum coding means the Jolt way is not possible, some limitation with PHP3,

Yes, but I think that's open to change if required, I remember RP* adding the expand view in the early closed BETA stage but I'm not sure as to whether there's limitations,

EDIT: RP or [violet], one of the two,

Well, I can't code my way out of a GOTO loop, so I guess this is where my curiosity becomes idle.

Each post has an unique number. It shouldn't be hard for the reply editor to just quote a list of posts by number, instead of just one. But it's almost certainly too hard for me, I downloaded phpBB to fiddle around with but after about ten minutes my brane hurt and I gave it up.
