You're not an American. Considering how you can't even spell the name of the continent half the time.

I am very well educated, thank you.

You are typing in English. In English it is spelled America. And why are you switching back and forth?

The issue with living in China is that you're free to do what you want until someone more powerful decides they don't like you,

That differs from a set rule of law by which you can expect reasonable consistency in terms of justice.

People are certainly not free to just do what they like, that tends to be the view of foreigners who are privileged in terms of little contact with the system, often abusing it and giving foreigners a bad name in the process,

Well China has grown because of America's economy, it's internal market is less developed than, say, India.

That's what I believe he was addressing. Refer to my above post. When PRC's economy hits a serious rut, there will be issues. In any democratic country, the people take their anger out on the government's perceived failure by replacing the incumbent that was unfortunate enough to be. It's a godsend that the peons were allowed to vote in a president right after the housing crash to allay their fears. There could have been riots if it was mid term.

this is the reason why i do not respect or admire many expats here as they do take advantage and screw it up for all the rest

but in all

china does give reasonable solution's

also if i would speak or type in any other language this is not my problem thus i suggest you learning a language and being able to learn and research on other matters

there for you wont be confused

even if you do not take me serious, again not my problem as this is why so many are arrogant.

you would rather read or hear from un official sources than those who are actually living in the place they are mentioning

You say they have more freedom than the U.S.?
At least U.S. doesn't filter google searches.
You all know who the tank man is/was?
The guy that stood in front of the Chinese tanks as a protest against communism?
Search him on Google china and he won't come up.
Do it on another Google and it will.

Facebook is currently blocked, Twitter is blocked, Google China has to tailor its results so various terms don't turn up,

Even on Xiaonei, groups cannot be termed under 'student' now, is the 60th anniversary of October 1st coming up?

Yes, yes it is,

Much the same as the fact that Tiananmen square is always 'closed for renovations' every June 4th,

xiaonei is a chinese version of facebook

and yes ok what about other sites that america bans or had banned

but no one cares about facebook thats old news

if china really bans them then what about msn? or yahoo? or any more popular search engines or forums

you have it all wrong

if they really want to ban them then they would ban the most popular sites

students in china are more political than american students and most have learned to hack

so this is the case of being misinformed once again sorry to burst your bubble

First, even to be on the Internet, you're tracked, if you go to an Internet cafe you need to provide your ID so they can match, privacy is not alllowed,

Facebook and Twitter and others are blocked, blocked now despite the fact you can find a workaway around that,

Chinese netizens even make jokes about 'harmonising' the internet - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKx1aenJK08

Oh wait, I think Youtube is blocked as well,

They're blocked because the Chinese government cannot bring retribution to foreign Internet companies whereas they can against the Sina's, Sohu's and etc., they cannot demand personal data either.

You're a fool if you think people are free to do what they want in China, while it's far freer than people expect, it also remains quite controlled,

..and this is the problem with China, the restrictions force people into illegal actions, why get a license when it will cost you so much and take years to process, just open the business. Can't access a site, use an illegal proxy,

So it's fine, until you piss someone off and they've simply got something on you because if you actually followed the rules you'd get nothing done.

This was basically the complaint of Lai Changxing, vilified in China as the master criminal yet the fact remains that he could not have done what he did without the support and complicity of the government, without making huge bribes,

...and yet the Chinese government seems blameless, easy to point the finger and say how illegal and corrupt someone was when the system essentially forces you to be corrupt, when the system is corrupt..

We always joked that a contract is not settled until payment is made, the rule of law hardly exists, which makes for a very free society on the surface but an utterly restrictive society underneath,

Most foreigners skim the surface, never quite understanding the reality,
