I'll let Aesthetica reply to your remarks, but I had to address this...

So time spent alive, which is time not spent in Heaven, is a 'punishment'...

You believe in a god who punishes his creations from the moment they are born, before they have a chance to do anything to earn that punishment?

Your god is a sadistic insecure bully, I wouldn't worship it even if it existed.

Who are we to judge God, a being infinitely more powerful and knowing than we are?

Ah, the very reason why I discovered Christianity was highly inconsistent and left the church.
If we can't judge god, why are Christians judging his words to be truths?
If we can't judge god, why are some Christians judging selectively which parts of the bible to take literally and which not to, or judging to take the entire bible literally?

Christians, once they believe in the bible, are exactly judging god.

His might and knowing doesn't really prevent anyone from judging him.

Why couldn't god's might and intelligence be exaggerated as well? ;)

Can't really exaggerate ALL-POWERFUL to anything higher. (and yes I know what you mean, but the winky face makes it acceptable for me to say this)

And I don't understand why we're still debating the obviously non-historical story of the Ark.

The probably was a big flood in the Fertile Crescent (given the high number of flood stories from the time), and the Jews took it and God-ified it to help themselves understand it.

Another reason why they should've worship thermodynamics instead of Yahweh. *nods*

But yeah, I heard about that one as well.

Sure you can, you can exaggerate a deity from ordinary "godness" to being ALL-POWERFUL.

No. His all-powerfulness and almightiness may have been exaggerations. That's the point. And you said you know what Norstal meant?

Also, please point out the flow of logic from "a being infinitely more powerful and knowing than we are" to "we can't judge him" because the latter does not follow from the former.

a large portion of what i say will be IC, or Jokes; that, or you call it flaming/trolling, i call it pointing out an uncomfortable fact.

Yes, dear. I got his point. I was being facetious because there isn't a real intense debate going on between Norstal and myself at the moment. I said "I know what you mean" so nobody would try to explain to me that the All-Powerfulness was the exaggeration Norstal was talking about. Apparently, I didn't make that clear enough.

And I never said we can't judge Him, so I don't really understand why you're asking me for a logic flow there.

how does the "two of every animal" and "40 days and nights" bits fit into that explanation? i still await an answer on how kangaroos got from australia to mesopotamia and back again- and how plant-life could survive the flood, as with salt water fish (fresh water fish if it was raining salt water)
or how a 350 foot long boat made of gopherwood is possible- especially since the largest boat ever was 377 feet long, required iron reinforcement (and still leaked like a bitch and needed to be constantly bailed out, a task impossible for such a small human force) and was scrapped after its maiden voyage after being built in 1865-1874 (thousands of years after Noah had his voyage)

The probably was a big flood in the Fertile Crescent (given the high number of flood stories from the time), and the Jews took it and God-ified it to help themselves understand it.

source, please.
also, you notice that nobody other than his disciples wrote about jebus for a few decades after his death, yes? and that he is not mentioned in any roman scriptures, yes?

Oh my, this is interesting. There is evidence of the Ark on a mountaintop? Do tell, I'm interested how they'd know it came from Noah's Ark. I don't doubt there's evidence of something on a mountaintop. I just see no evidence saying it's certain what it is.

And I know about the evidence for Jesus. I never refuted anything about Jesus. EVER.

how does the "two of every animal" and "40 days and nights" bits fit into that explanation? i still await an answer on how kangaroos got from australia to mesopotamia and back again- and how plant-life could survive the flood, as with salt water fish (fresh water fish if it was raining salt water)

I don't think Noah's Ark is anything more than a Parable. Like just about everything else in the Bible.

The Bible is not, and in my opinion shouldn't be treated as, a historically accurate collection of events.

On "Mount Sianai"? No. The Ark landed on Mount Ararat, hundreds of miles from Sinai. And the old wood found on Ararat is just that, old wood. There is no evidence it was part of a boat.

As for Jesus, no concrete evidence there, either. Sorry.

as a supernatural text, father-in-training, i think that either everything is literal, or everything is metaphorically intended- religion doesnt work when you dont specify EXACTLY what you mean, because people on average are just totally stupid. unlike anyone on nationstates, most people in my community over the age of 30 dont even know how to use the internet. which is sad.

Well, you're entitled to think that. I'm entitled to think differently. And as the father-in-training, I hope to teach the Catholic Beliefs to those who come to my masses.

And that's strange... Even my grandparents are on the internet. Constantly. They do love their iPhones and iPads too... Very techno-savvy. They probably know more than I do.

God wouldn't hate an atheist. Because he's imaginary.
We in Gravonia have set our sights very low, so low in fact that even glory will have in it an echo of failure.

No, it's where I am. I'm the delegate of the region founded by members of Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas. Or whatever our full name is... Jesuit Dallas is what we go by. Sometimes Jesuit Prep.... The Prep...
Rep the Prep?
