For the good, it's given me a couple of lifelong friends whom I've stayed in contact with whether I've been on NationStates or not. It's helped me enhance my storytelling and writing abilities.

For the not so good, it's also given me people I want nothing to do with and was the source of many dollars spent on books and much anger and frustration.
