Indeed! I mean, I may not agree that Christians are monstrous filth, but it's clearly a perfectly reasonable contribution to a discussion.

Exactly. It's freedom of expression, whether this is a Father Knows Best state or not. 1-day bans for trolling notwithstanding.

Freedom of expression is very important. I mean, really, what would this forum be if we didn't have people helpfully calling entire groups nasty names?

This forum would definitely be a much duller place if you couldn't slap pointlessly inflammatory adjectives onto every statement you made about a particular group of people and get away with it.

uhhuh

and does that pertain to christianity? if so there must be some piss poor praying going on given how often god does not grant requests.

Muttering "God forgive me" before dying after slaughtering innocents is analogous to a child who killed the cat muttering "sorry, whatever" to their mother.

You have to do it, once more, with feeling. It's kinda hard to fool someone who's Omniscient, after all.

That's the important part, which eliminates the whole simply uttering part.

Also, I'm saddened you call Bible Quotes "Shit" but Freedom of Expression is the Freedom to Insult, and I'm fine with that.

God must be a really sick sort of chap to do so, especially if that person ruined hundreds of lives as a consequence of his action. Sure, genuinely being sorry is nice, but it ain't going to change anything. Pol Pot can be genuinely sorry in the last bit of his life, but it ain't going to change the fact that 3 million Kampucheans were murdered, and millions more maimed, legless and armless.

Doth do the will, that means no killing and raping and the like. (Unless of course, that killing is punishment for some petty crime that God think is punishable by death)

Well, Christianity IS supposed to teach non-violence and the like, but Dogma always seems to get mixed into the message it's trying to convey.

As the movie Dogma put it (excellent movie, in my opinion) "Humanity took an idea and built a belief structure around it."

You know, I wonder about this. With so many people of various sorts who are supposed to get into heaven, what with their vastly different politics and various tendencies to violence, what makes anyone think that heaven's going to be a nice place, even if it exists? Sounds like it would be a perpetual battleground of misery and suffering.

It's all due to a fear of not having enough, and since everything is supposedly infinite in heaven, the keystone to most political parties are broken.
