Postby The Godly Nations » Mon Aug 31, 2009 6:27 pm

What are your thoughts on our brothers who believeth in the doctrine of Sola Fata? That a soul may enter paradise after a life of crime and evil and complete desolation from only the utterance of the words 'Forgive me lord'?

Hell bound sinners they are, spreading false doctrine! The lord shall work woe upon them, the torment shall betide them for all their days, in this world and the next!

All I know is what the Bible says about salvation. If a depraved evil man repents at the end of his life and God lets him into Heaven... well, God's the one doing the judging and not me right? I figure he knows the ins and outs of the job better'n I do.

I thought one of the core tenets of Christianity was that anybody that seeked redemption and forgiveness for their sins would receive it and transend into the kingdom of the lord to live forever in blah blah blah.

Although, think that entire sects of rapists and mass murders that are put into a corner and faced with death, deciding that Jesus is the only way out of their spot is probably not what Jesus was advocating.

They can't just mumble "Lord forgive me" before being blown away by police. You've got to really mean it.

He's God, he knows when you don't 'mean' it.

The Church doesn't really let anyone into heaven these days except what they consider to be "true believers." Not even unbaptized babies get it.

Besides, its besides the point. Everyone knows Ahura Mazda lets everyone whose not a complete jerk into heaven anyways.

The act of redemption must indeed be sincere, but if it is then yes. On the other hand let's be honest, how many really *evil* people will?

I think The Godly Nations has been reading a little too much Left Behind, where that prayer pretty much is a magical incantation.

I'd have a word with your doctor, you need some blood pressure or you die.

Why not try thinking in short bursts?

My blood pressure is fine at present, however, prolonged exposure to religion is bad for it.

Um...people say alot of things they don't truly mean or give too much thought to, especially when they're about to die.

I always wonder about that. I mean a serial killer or rapist can repent and get into Heaven, and yet a guy like Ghandi, or the Dali Llama goes to Hell?

This is where the Christian doctrine started falling apart for me.

I think christians are filth.
As much as my opinions are VERY unpopular, I am still allowed to express them. This is just one of the many ways one receives "freedom of expression" is our beloved Father Knows Best State.
