Every time I hear Ray Charles perform his rendition of America The Beautiful I get more and more firm in my belief that it should replace the Star Spangled Banner.

US and UK. anthem sound alike. In Europe other nations had an anthem which were exactly the same has the UK. anthem. Must remember that most European monarchs were related. The following are some examples.

I consider this anthem among the good ones. It was first used during the Japanese occupation of parts of China. Song is not political, no Communist mention. Communist tried to change that but they went back to the original version which is this. It was once also banned in Taiwan but no longer. This is also Pingxiang NS anthem

The Banner is overused, IMO.

Battle Hymn Of The Republic is catchier.

But no anthem will ever beat Le Marseillaise.

Yes, there is one anthem which beats the Marseillaise. They call it the Marseillaise of South America. Venezuelas ,"Glory to the Brave People"

Even the people of supposed skill who try to sing our song before sporting events usually fail.

It is both true and aspirational.

And I hear it was written by a schoolteacher after climbing Pike's Peak following a visit to the famous Chicago Exposition.
