This too. Hell, half the things people (and especially governments) say about marijuana are blatantly untrue.

"Never be deceived that the rich will permit you to vote away their wealth." - Lucy Parsons
Socialism is an economic system characterised by social ownership of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy. "Social ownership" may refer to cooperative enterprises, common ownership, state ownership, citizen ownership of equity, or any combination of these. There are many varieties of socialism and there is no single definition encapsulating all of them. They differ in the type of social ownership they advocate, the degree to which they rely on markets or planning, how management is to be organised within productive institutions, and the role of the state in constructing socialism.

You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded. Because the elements, the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars. And the only way they could get into your body is if the stars were kind enough to explode.

So forget Jesus. The stars died so you could be here today.

^This. For a recent art assignment, we had to create ten pieces of art inspired by ten different artists, and I've caught flak for picking Jackson Pollock and Piet Mondrian, because apparently they aren't real artists because their art is more abstract than other artists.

The same can be said for most wars actually. If you ask an American to name two battles of the Revolution, you'll get some combination of Lexington, Concord, Bunker(Breeds)Hill, and Trenton. You might also get the Boston Massacre if you are talking to someone who slept through History class.

Picking Pollock was probably a bad idea in that regard, because his art is not only indiscernible and devoid of recognizable form, his technique relied heavily on happenstance.

I personally think Pollock's work and the subsequent imitators epitomize the Quixotic nature that a lot of modern art has taken
