Christian Bashing

This a response to the Atheist bashing forum. I have no problems with the idea of Atheism, its just that when ever there is an Atheist thread it always ends up as a killing field against Christians. And those people justify it by saying that we persecuted them. Well I did not. I don't any who has. Please fill me in.

No one is bashing individuals for being Christians, but if you believe in/advocate really ridiculous shit, then you can expect a chuckle or two.

Everyone acts extreme and then paints ALL of their enemies as being like the even more extreme fringe of their group. Apparently every Christian is to blame for every wrong ever commited by any Christian whether or not you were even alive.

"Christians are idiots" or "Christians deserve to die" would be Christian-bashing. "Christianity is self-contradictory" or "God doesn't exist" isn't.

Statistically atheists are one of the most hated groups of people out there, so yes, we have seen intolerance. I personally live in a rural area were I have dealt with quite a bit of hostility for my beliefs. However, I must agree with you that being intolerant of other faiths is equally bad.

I am not saying that people stating their opinion is bashing. I am saying that when people say "Those of you who are smart enough to be Atheists" (taken directly from the Atheist bashing thread).

I see a lot of criticism of Christianity on this forum, but little of it could reasonably be construed as bashing. I'm not saying atheists don't cross the line, but it doesn't happen as often as the OP seems to suggest.

Thats a falsehood. If you say "I dont believe in your religion" I don't care. I respect your beliefs (or lack) what I'm calling bashing is calling the individual who practices Christianity an obivious idiot. Or saying that we are intolerant (I'm not saying all of us aren't). That is down right stereotyping. And it is just as bad as any stereotype. I don't care if we are a majority, a stereotype and an insult are still a stereotype and an insult.
