I have been here for quite a while now and I have notice that there are quite a few gay people on this forum. Although, I know that being gay his most likely due to per-occurrence and not something that most gays chose, I am unsure how it must feel to be gay and how you particularly know that you are gay? I find it very fascinating to try to engage in discussion that relate to sexual orientation because I believe it is an issue that divide the world so much today.

If you'd fuck a dude, you're gay.

Or, if you're female and you'd bang a chick, you're gay (by the generalised meaning of gay).

I imagine that it is known to someone, that they are gay, by their inclinations to be interested in their same sex.

If you have to loudly insist that homosexuality is an abomination and gays are pedophiles, etc. etc. then you're probably gay and in denial. Or buttfucking when you think nobody's watching.

Interesting because many people have some level of affection for a good friends of theirs but they don't consider themselves attracted to them.

I am a dude, so I am straight. I imagine being gay is pretty similar - except the exact opposite.

Reminds me of a funny story.

When my gay friend came to stay with me and my mildly homophobic boyfriend (he'd deny it) he was a bit uncomfortable. He asked me if my friend had ever been with a woman. I told him "no."

"Well how does he know he's gay?"
"Tony, have you ever been with a guy?"
A slight offended "No."
"Then how do you know you're straight?"
He got the point.

There are exceptions, but that involved alcohol, and didn't actually reflect necessary sexual attraction.

lets change the question to one that not everyone can answer. how do you know your gay if you are sexually confused? that might get more than "you fuck another man/woman"

Exactly, It should not be a debatable question, but yet many people are so divided on this subject that it as turn it into something debatable and something that divide the world. Plus, I think there are some gay people out their who are unaware of the sign and what is consider homo. I and my politically intuitive friends tend to have conflicting opinion on the reality of this. He believe gayness is a illness that can be cure, while I strongly disagree, even though it goes against some of my believe, I know it is probably the case.

Naturally, we all know sexuality lies along a sliding scale and people aren't just slapped into cut-and-dry categories. Still, if you've fucked a few women, you'd have to be at least somewhere near bi.

Of course, this is all irrelevant to what you choose to consider yourself.

True 'nuff. But when I go looking for a partner I look for men. For practical puposes, I'm hetero. My having some flexibility, technically I'm "barely bi."

Interesting, this approach seem correct, but it's so widely controversial. Like many people think if you are led to believe you are homo, bi or whatever, then you will be.
