Aw come on. I did it... Then again, I thought of my classmates as my second family (and I liked them better than my actual family), and I was eager to get away from Ruth and Haskel, even if only for 12 hours...

But still, my point stands. You don't know if you're gonna have fun or not. Just go, dress nicely, and take pics. If you don't have fun, you'll at least have some new pics for us to compliment you for. :)

Meh. I know I won't have fun; I'm no fun at gatherings (excluding family ones) if they don't involve drugs or alcohol. I assume showing up to a school dance plastered will probably get me expelled. Besides, I don't have a tie to match any of my shirts.

the moment where you realize that anybody worth having, except the ex, is too far away, and the moment where this becomes a problem because of a nervousness of long distance relationships.

C'mon, you're in a city of 617,594 people according to the 2010 census. Don't tell me your ex was the only good one in the batch.

Actually, my city is a tiny bit south of Boston, but I always go with it, because people know where it is.
If I were to tell people I'm in Attleboro, I'd get a long list of blank stares or responses of 'where's that?" And I prefer to avoid that.

Just like how I tell people I live in Sydney.
Anyway, that's still 42,833 people. Now, out of all those people who are currently single, in your age group, whose gender and sexual orientation are compatible with yours, there's gotta be at least one. I don't have the figures to back it up, but optimism is nice, right?

True, and it changed no doubt, but that's the last figures put out on the subject.
